: It wasnt really random. God was leaping him to fix things he wanted fixed. Like when he leaped to those 2 or 3 different people(including his younger self)around the same time frame they never intended for sam to stay leaping forever as the last episode says in the onscreen text. That episode was actually supposed to be a season finale and not the series finale but it was cancelled at the last minute.
