So amazing last night.
When Dexter told Doakes "Because I own you" and headbutted him, I cheered.
Funny how when the series started, I found Dexter's actions to be pretty repulsive- now 20 episodes later they slowly brought me to his side and I'm rooting for the guy. Good writing there.
I still don't agree with what I does, and really he ought to be locked up. But I root for him nonetheless.

I had the opposite reaction. I've always supported Dexter. He makes damn sure that the people he kills are guilty and deserving before he does what he does. And although Doakes is a douche, he has every right to be suspicious of Dexter. And dexter using an innocent man to set up another innocent man seemed very out of character, and I think its showing the negative effects that Lila is starting to have on him

I know Dexter's actions are wrong (they ALWAYS are, really) but the way it is written and acted I can't help but root for him. And Doakes is such a humorless sourpuss it made me happy to see him fired.

I'm sure we havent seen the last of him and his parade raining. Right, well someone over on TV Without Pity made the point that it was a mistake for Dexter to do that to Doakes. Now Doakes has plenty of free time, and no doubt it will all be devoted to Dexter. I don't see how this can end without Doakes either finding out Dexter's secret or Doakes dying.

I do think he will, yes.
And as much as I don't want to see him get caught, I think a season with him in jail would be fucked up in a good way.

She gets sent-to-voicemail ONCE and she's burning shit down. Codependency like whoa. I almost wish it would've dawned on Dexter, when he noticed the light was fixed, that burning her apartment down was exactly the same--creative problem-solving. The choices they're making this season are so weird, in a good way. It's like Not-Killing Dexter is a bad guy, and Killing Dexter is a good guy.

I loved it.

I don't think Lila's a drug addict. I think she uses the program in the same way Dexter does.... talking about her addiction as if it were to drugs, hiding her real problem.
I think she's a pyromaniac.
I thought the same thing as TV Without Pity. Doing Doakes like that is totally going to bite him in the ass, but man was that an awesome scene.
I have this other hunch that Lundy is going to find out that Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher and pull a Willam Dafoe in BOONDOCK SAINTS and help him. I hope to God they don't do this, but I keep seeing this weird look in Carradine's eyes that make me think they're going to do it.
If I were behind this show, I'd go one more season and call it quits. Have the series finale be Deb bringing down Dexter and noone else. Because he can't go on forever killing and not get caught. Right?

Right? Thats the thing. It is such a great show, but I can't see it going beyond this (or maybe just one more) season. Like PRISON BREAK was good trashy fun for a year, bad the second year, and this year has been an utter disaster. Not that I am comparing the quality of the two shows on any level, mind you.

I don't know, I thought there was no way they could keep it as good as the first season and so far they have. Since each season is only 12 episodes maybe they can keep it good for a few more.

Why is it that I love the actor who plays Vince Masuka on this show, but can't stand him on CHUCK? Oh well, after tonight... he's gone from there it seems. -- Nate
