Another year of snooze nominations. I thought people largely stopped caring about MODERN FAMILY this year, but I guess that's no reason not to still nominate it for everything. At least GIRLS, Poehler and Esposito got in there. And they nominate someone from JUSTIFIED and it's Jeremy Davies???

Jonathan from The Trio wrote Game Change and Recount? The same person wrote Game Change and Recount?

Also, the biggest snub is Ashley Tisdale not being nominated for Phineas & Ferb. Same as every year.

I liked RECOUNT a lot. GAME CHANGE was alright... but it felt way more "Movie of the Week." I dunno.

I anxiously await Kurt Sutter's twitter meltdown over this.

Outstanding Drama Series

Boardwalk Empire
Breaking Bad
Downton Abbey
Game Of Thrones
Homeland
Mad Men

WOW, that's one tough category.  I haven't seen Homeland but when Game Of Thrones is 4th or 5th down the list...

Jon Hamm as Abner

That is an awesome nomination right there.

How the same group of people could select that, and give 4 out of 6 "Outstanding Supporting Actor" nominations to Modern Family is baffling.

No, I didn't mean that.  I think Game of Thrones is the 4th or 5th best show on that list.  And GoT is awesome.

Why are they continuing to reward Jon Cryer for what he does on that show? Why did they ever start in the first place?

Tom Berenger winning was pretty great. He seemed excited about it at the Major League Q&A I was at on Thursday.

Glad I caught up with 'Homeland', otherwise I'd think "What's this bullshit show that beat all these other awesome shows?"  I would've had a hard time believing it, but Lewis is as good as Cranston's ever been.

Has a show ever had a higher level of difficultly going into a second season? What are they going to do that they didn't do in the first?

I love that I have no idea how they're going to pull it off.  I'm nervous and scared for them.

Maybe TWIN PEAKS.  But other than that.... I can't think of one.

I almost wish there wasn't a second season, except that cast is so phenomenal that I would be truly upset if there wasn't one.
