Sometimes people camp it up so hard that it makes me wince, and that's what Green did in this. Also, saying it's Burton's most entertaining movie since BIG FISH is completely meaningless, even if it might technically be true.

There's so much disconnected bullshit in that movie, like Jonny Lee Miller's entire character (and Helena Bonham Carter's, for that matter). I'm assuming there were certain bases from the show that they felt needed to be touched even if they didn't want to put in the effort to properly integrate them.

Does clicking on that second link register us for some sort of watch list?  If you're a cop, you gotta tell us.

The reason I shared the gif and not the youtube clip is to spare you from the comments.... smh

And while KICK ASS and (500) DAYS OF SUMMER aren't sexualized, they are characters of the adult in the kid body that I find mildly fetishistic.  Maybe I'm just sensitive in my old age where I'm finding things ickier.  For example, Natalie Portman in BEAUTIFUL GIRLS I used to defend up and down when that movie came out, but rewatching as an adult it's like "Ew. No..."  Same with the movie KIDS in its entirety.

Uh...?

Four years older than Natalie Portman. 19.

Yeah. Hmmm. I guess the only good parts are Depp and Green. And you don't even like Green. I don't know. Hey, that music!

I'm kidding.  But I think she places a "little adult" more than anything sexualized.

Other than Depp, "Nights In White Satin" might actually have been the best thing in it.

But that's a perfect example of why it's too long.

I agree that they didn't need to play the whole song, but that's a great song, and I figured that was two minutes where we didn't have to endure some dumb joke about Depp first encountering platform shoes.

I thought Dark Shadows was going to be a one joke pony, but it turned out to be a no joke pony. It's quite bad, but not in the way I thought it would be. It was almost impossible to stay awake during it at two in the afternoon. Although I'm definitely in the pro-Eva Green camp. She was the only person having any fun at all. She should be in every Burton movie from here on out.

One slightly interesting thing was how Depp was an actual vampire murdering innocent people, but even that was kind of dumb given the tone they were going for.
