I've only seen bits and pieces of BIG BANG THEORY (mostly at the gym, with the closed captioning on) and it does seem to have a certain amount of charm to it, even if the jokes aren't good. I've seen a lot more of TWO AND A HALF MEN and it's much uglier and more unfunny. I would never sit down with the intent of watching a full episode of either, but BIG BANG seems like it would be a much less unpleasant experience to endure, of the two.

Maybe if it gets its same ratings there, it'll be pretty good for Fridays.

Friday used to be a huge TV night.  Dukes of Hazzard, Dallas, I don't know why it fell out of favor.  Saturday too.

I remember watching EMPTY NEST and THE GOLDEN GIRLS on Saturday nights with my mom when I was like four.

It is weird to think that it used to be a legitimate programming night, and now it's where you schedule a show if you're trying to murder it.

Didn't they try to throw FREAKS AND GEEKS on Saturdays?

I really like the cast, the writing just never does them justice. That show could be great if, oh I dunno, it seemed like the writers were interesting in trying.

I don't like feeling like a sour hipster nerd everytime I hear talking about it like it were the Simpsons. I think I like Family Guy more than that show.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., Sliders, and X-Files were some of the best Friday nights of my adolescence.

Yeah, it's strange, I remember being a kid and there was some decent shows on Friday and Saturday nights. TGIF was Friday full of great shows and Saturday had Golden Girls, Empty Nest and Nurses. So what happened to turn Friday and Saturday into a TV graveyard?

They are usually geared towards people that stay home those days and then they realized it was cheaper to run movies on those days and then they realized they can basically just air repeats at those times. Reality thrives there, though.
