Don't know about touching. Every time the show tries to have a serious moment, I feel like it falls flat.
When she got choked up in the voting booth I got choked up too, the same when Anne tells her the bigs news by the end.

Really? The 21 votes fakeout was so cliched that I thought they were going to make a joke out of it. They might as well have said, "The magic was never in the feather... it was in you the whole time."

I love Parks and I'm glad it got a full season, but I think I'm in the minority that loves Community quite a bit more. It's become my favorite comedy on TV.

I don't think that's the minority.

Really? I guess I go by my circle of friends. They all dig Community, but by and far Parks and Rec is the favorite. Which isn't a bad thing because it great.
I also haven't met anyone other than my dad (who is 61) that things 2 and a Half Men is even remotely entertaining. This is why the way we collect ratings is dumb.

I was just listening to a Jay Mohr podcast with someone who said their dad calls them up and says, "You gotta put on channel 2, this TWO AND A HALF MEN is a scream!" I think that's the audience.

Yeah, my dad LOVES that show. But only with Sheen. Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure he only watches CBS.

I wonder how much viewings on Hulu take away from people watching the Thursday shows over the air.
Even so, it really seem like the Nielson system is way out of whack. I wish they'd figure out the next way to measure ratings.

Deadline is now saying that THE OFFICE might only be renewed for 13 episodes. Curious. I bet Helms and Krasinski only agreed to do the bare minimum so they'd have more time to do HANGOVER sequels and bad rom-coms, respectively. Maybe Derick's dream of a Christmas series finale will actually come true.

I'm with you on that, while I like both shows I enjoy Community a lot more, It was probably my favorite show on Thursdays. Oh and add me to the list of people whos dad loves Two and a Half Men, he's 55. So it seems like the old people keep that crap show going.

It's on CBS, guys. CBS' viewership is, what, 80% retirees or something.

I'm more baffled at the love I hear Big Bang Theory get from people my age.

I don't get it either. I suffered through the whole first season, and it was like "what jocks think nerds sound like". Talented cast, bit I laughed maybe once every other episode. Sheldon's social skills (or lack thereof) came and went to service the plot.

This reminds me of the Pauline Kael quote about Nixon.

I watch Big Bang Theory off and on. For me, I find the cast really entertaining which keeps me interested enough. It's also a kind of funny where I don't have to be an active viewer, I can be doing one or two other things while it's on and still get the gist.
