When I left work, MiB3 was doing less at my theatre than Battleship was doing on its opening Friday.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN:  VAMPIRE HUNTER -- Eleventy billion dollars

EVERYTHING ELSE -- $0.00

I was reminded last night that this is opening next week. Is there any awareness at all that it's coming out? I'm not watching much TV lately, but there doesn't seem to be. It seems like they should pull a GI JOE and push it back to late August or a sleepy weekend in September, maybe even early October.

I don't know about awareness that it comes out next week, but I've definitely seen commercials and have heard people talk about it.

Maybe it's just me, then, But I've seen commercials for TED and CARELLANCHOLIA and have heard people talking about them. With LINCOLN, nothing. I was genuinely surprised when I was reminded that it's about to come out.

CARELLANCHOLIA

Might be a market thing, because I haven't seen shit about SEEKING A FRIEND (I'm guessing that's what you're talking about).  Though, the only TV I watch live is sports while at work in the bar, so maybe it's a demo thing.

I've seen the trailer five million times and the poster all over theaters. Im probably more aware of it than Abe Lincoln.

I've seen it because Lorene keeps sending me posters in the mail and having planes fly over with banners that say "go write the Easter Bunny, J-O".  It's very weird.  Are you guys getting these posters and planes too?

I had space to put up Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, People Like Us and Brave. So I put up Brave and Seeking a Friend twice.

Because I've been watching the NBA playoffs, I can tell you that LINCOLN ads are played every 15-20 minutes.

Seeking a Friend at the End of the World

Wow, I had NO awareness of this movie up until now.  Just watched the trailer.  I'm amazed this movie has never been done.  Great premiss (although I have to think it ends with "oops, we were wrong").

EDIT: I just watched  a trailer for a Willem Defoe movie "4:44 Last Day on Earth".  Apparently  it has been done (much darker).

There's also Last Night.
Look it up, it's Canadian. Which means Don McKellar is in it.

One of my favorite things about the NBA playoffs is all their NBA and summer movie mashups. The Steven A Smith Prometheus one made me laugh every time.

Lincoln seems like a bomb to me, but apparently it is tracking well. Not that that means a lot.

I LOVE Last Night.  It's pretty brilliant.
