It's the new CW show starring a former DEGRASSI person about how wild Los Angeles is. Except this time, everyone is struggling and poor. This is going to get canceled really quickly, it had the lowest rated debut of all time. It's delightfully terrible or secretly trying to be a really meta comedy in disguise as dramatic CW fare. There are many subtle hints to it. Paul F Thompkins and Mary Lynn Rajskub (maybe) play incredibly mean versions of themselves in it. If that hasn't convinced you, it has a great hysterical music interlude that ends with an amazing stinger that rivals even the best 90210 belly laughs. See it before it's...and it's canceled.

NOTE!

Apparently, it's a Canadian import and they already have about 10 seasons planned. Yay!

Yeah, I watched it mostly because of Jewel Staite. I like that it's the anti-Entourage in that things aren't turning out well for everyone. It's trash, but it is enjoyable trash and I loved Paul F Thompkins and Mary Lynn Rasjkub ripping into the stand up comic guy.

How rude. Her name is Manny Santos, and she and Emma went through some pretty harrowing times.

I'm watching it on Hulu Plus right now.  I don't think the kids on this show are making good life decisions.

That was not turning out well? I guess when the point of reference is Entourage, anything would feel that way.

This show is (was) not terrible. Like hardly at all. You guys are so far down the 90210 hole you think when you like something it must be extreme sports bad. I just wish Cassie Steele was playing Manny Santos. Though that would have caused some confusion when Drake actually showed up.

It's also very strange that everyone is adding an 'h' to Paul F. Tomkins name when it was prominently featuring on a marquee at least twice.

Come on, the vomit audition was as funny bad stupid as TV gets.  Shocked

Also 90210 is now as boring as you accused it of being. So I hope you're happy.

Is a box of morning after pill having a big red warning on it that says "WARNING: MAY CAUSE DEBILITATING NAUSEA" and having someone gasp and mention their audition not terrible?

As for 90210, I love that if you missed two episodes and watched it next week, you can say "Wait, why is Silver pregnant with Liam's child"?

The best part of the barfy audition was that it was preceeded by a jazz piano version of 'Taking Care of Business'.  It was like she was barfing at her own song almost.

HOLY SHIT Paul F. Tompkins and Mary-Lynn Rajskub are the WORST versions of themselves. It was awesome.

Now you're making things up so they will fit your hilariously bad model. She just reads the warning after she gets the phone call from her awesome agent and says "of course." No gasping.

Yes. In the literal sense awesome, not in the DerickA sense.

Jewel Staite's reactions to things are great. The comedian is terrible in a horrifyingly realistic manner. Cassie Steele is really good. And the relationship with the Australian guy was better portrayed than any other such thing that's been on CW in ten years.

Really, only the quasi-Jamaican sound engineer is ludicrously bad.

I was also struck by the density of blurred-out breasts in this.  I guess the producers were hoping they might sell it somewhere they wouldn't have to blur them out?

Does Cassie Steele hold the Guinness Record for silently mouthing the word "abortion" on American television??
