The interview in the book with Whedon and Goddard is awesome.  It's HUGE.  And they explain who Kevin is.  He's not in the movie.  They had to take it out, from what I could gather he's a normal looking dude who would have killed people in really fucked up ways.  But they didn't have time to do it.

This is amazing.  Shawn C Phillips sees a similarity between CABIN and a certain movie that CABIN is not really like.

It's awesome that Bradley Whitford is "the guy from Billy Madison" and not "the guy from the West Wing."

He's never seen Buffy, though, so we've got to start a campaign or something to get him on that.

His Lockout review is spot on. I love that what stood out most to him was Vincent Regan as the Gerald Butler looking guy.

Full disclosure: "The guy from BILLY MADISON" is exactly who Bradley Whitford has always been to me.

Oh, no judgements. Whitford is genuinely really funny in that movie, even if I don't love the movie itself.

Same here. I hope to hear a weasel laugh every time I see Whitford on screen.

Did anyone pick up on the line from the golf cart scene? "We haven't had a glitch since 19XX." Was that a reference to a specific horror movie?
I'm pretty sure the year they mentioned was 1998, and as soon I heard that I thought it had to be SCREAM, what with the whole meta-horror-movie connection. However, since SCREAM came out in 1996, it turns out it can't be that and I am not smart.

Other people seem to think maybe it was a reference to THE TRUMAN SHOW, which I guess works. I like mine better though. There was also a film called THE CABIN out in 1998 but I don't know nuffink about that.

I saw it again tonight, and they specifically say that the glitch was caused by whatever department Amy Acker works for. So knowing that might help make sense of it.

I cannot offer anything further.

Could there be anything on Buffy that it might apply to?

She was in the Chemistry Dept. But I didn't get the sense that it was a reference to anything specific, other than to give the organization a sense of history. SCREAM is a nifty thought, but that doesn't really make any sense. And THE TRUMAN SHOW makes absolutely no sense. And I don't think it corresponds with BUFFY, either.

I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER came out in '98. If only I could remember two things about it.

Oh, I didn't mean it as SCREAM or TRUMAN SHOW being a shared part of the CABIN IN THE WOODS universe, just thoughts as to what the 1998 reference could have been a nod towards. Unless it's nothing.
