He really did. The filming of The Conqueror was close to a test site and many of the cast and crew died of cancer and other radiation-related illnesses.

I read that the percentage of crew stricken by cancer is really close to the average who would have gotten it anyway with that many people.

Also, they filmed in 1956 and he died in 1979. And he admittedly had a six pack a day cigarette habit. A perfect Harry Knowles fact.

Well, then you're better informed than I am.

That was nice of him. I think that's resulted in the most retweets I've ever had. Oh, dubious accomplishments

Does he follow you? I like how whenever people compare enjoying a movie to sexual excitement, Harry Knowles is there.

Nah. Austin film critic William Goss posts on the same Rian Johnson board as I do, he follows me, the alamo drafthouse owner follows him, and knowles follows him.

Do not judge me because I looked into this.

I met Harry Knowles' really pretty niece or cousin and she was extremely geeky and cool, and when she asked me out of the blue what I thought about Ain't It Cool, I went off on a comedic rant about how awful Harry Knowles was and her smile faded and she curtly said "He's my uncle/cousin" and there was nothing I could do to backtrack so I just said "Oh, so you know, then."

It's awesome that you had the balls to follow through, though. I probably would have still tried to backtrack with a "Oh, OOOH, Harry *Knowles*. No, that's not who I meant at all."

At that point I had made fun of how he couldn't put on pants without being sent into the hospital. There was no going back.

The Harry puppet was at Monsterpalooza in Burbank this weekend. I missed it.

I bought his book off of ebay and it came today. Oddly excited to delve deeper into this man's brain.
