So you can read the mind of police officers?

No, but I can read a police report, as can most people.

You're hilarious.  I'll remember this level of human compassion next time one of your close family members and/or friends has a terrible medical crisis that can, miraculously, only be alleviated by the joy brought on from the entertainment works of Brian Lynch.

That seems to happen every other week or so, so I won't have long to wait.

I thought I made it very clear that I have NO clue what happened that day. I'm more than happy to read the police report should you provide it.

Don't drag Brian into this. He hasn't said a ding dong word about this, and I was only mentioning the success that "Trale Lewous" finally received after years of promoting Skittles candy on his own dime.

Please don't make this a "you don't know the pain" pissing contest. It's awful when anyone dies to the people that love them. I'm clearly saying I can't judge this until I know what happened.  News stations are altering footage and phone calls for crying out loud. I can't trust the media.

If the outcry is that "no one will ever know the truth", that lies on the prosecution.

Luke: You're not coming off well. Please re-read Dalton's post to see the crux of this whole thing.

I don't know if Zimmerman is a racist, but I know that race must have been a factor in the decision not to charge him.

This crux?

I'm going by what we know for sure.  There is a 911 call where Zimmerman is told very specifically to stop following Martin.  He ignored that warning.  Because he ignored that warning Martin wound up dead.  Zimmerman needs to be charged so that a jury can sort out what happened and punish him appropriately.   The facts can never fully come out until this happens.

That 911 call is haunting.

EDIT: Retracted because I'm not really 100% sure what's being said and I don't want to throw around accusations.

For someone who "doesn't know anything" you seem awfully judgmental and argumentative about facts other people are bringing up, and entering your own "facts" from out of nowhere.

Altering the news footage and phone calls? Are you watching Fox News?

Zimmerman claimed he had a broken nose, and his head was hit against the pavement so much he feared he'd be dead or permanently brain damaged. Even black and white fuzzy security cameras would pick up injuries THAT severe. He lied. Oh, zooming and enhancing shows a scrape on the back of his head and redness around his nose? Doesn't change the fact that he lied.

If Trayvon attacked Zimmerman, it was Zimmerman who was pursuing Trayvon, after being explicitly told not to. Trayvon had every right to defend himself against this guy.

Back up your claims and quit this "I dunno nothing" malarkey.

And an unarmed black teen was killed, and the person who admitted to killing him wasn't charged or interrogated and a month later is still free and in possession of the gun that killed said black teenager. At best this is offensive incompetence, at worst it's blatant racism.

I hope the entire Skittles thing doesn't hurt sales.

Skittles have become a symbol around the country at numerous protests and rallies because of this, a symbol of (roughly) "we demand justice".  I think they're doing okay.

It seems as if your argument is basically "I don't know the facts, therefore nobody can know any facts about the case."  But there are quite a few facts that are available, and they're mostly damning.  Part of your confusion seems to be "We haven't heard Zimmerman's story."  That's not really true; his lawyer, his brother, and his father, as well as the police report, all have his story -- though, admittedly, your confusion may stem from the fact that Zimmerman's story has changed every three or four days, as various facts come out to disprove aspects of it.

When people bring up that NBC thing it's so frustrating.  NBC edited the 911 call THEREFORE Zimmerman is innocent and should't be charged.  Al Sharpton was involved with Tawana Brawley 25 years ago THEREFORE Zimmerman is innocent and should be charged.  The media didn't cover black kids throwing gasoline and lighting a white kid on fire (but they did because how did I know about it otherwise?) THEREFORE Zimmerman is innocent and shouldn't be charged.

These people are illogical and confused.  I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like it.  It's depressing.

My favorite part of the entire exchange with Josh was that the seventh post down starts with "I don't even HAVE to read this article to comment on it....." Not a good way to begin your argument.

Come on, the best part was the guy whose final word on the matter was a quote from Archie Bunker.

The media didn't cover black kids throwing gasoline and lighting a white kid on fire (but they did because how did I know about it otherwise?)

The amazing thing about that story was that the people that were spreading it around as a counter-example to Trayvon Martin got the kid's name wrong -- that's how little research they did, and how little concern they had for the kid as an actual person [and the fact that the wrong name was "Coon" was one of those "You can't make this shit up" moments].  There also seems to be a decent amount of circumstancial evidence to suggest that the reason the local media suddenly stopped talking about that story was that the cops thought the kid was lying but didn't want to make a big deal about it, so they quietly closed the case.

I thought the kid was lying the minute I heard the story.  It didn't have the ring of truth and I'm not surprised at all to learn this tonight.
