I like the first one, and it would be great to see Grodin onscreen again, but I don't know if this is such a good idea. It's been way too long. This has the same stink on it that ANOTHER STAKEOUT did, only worse because instead of 6-7 years, it's been 1000. This movie should have been made no later than 1991. Also De Niro doesn't have that same energy as an actor that he still had in the original.

I know the writer, and he's really great and a huge fan of the first movie (as all good people are), so I have hope for it.

I guess that idiot was determined to do a sequel to a Martin Brest movie.

There was a cameo by Grodin in THE MUPPETS script, and I was disappointed when they didn't follow through but then I read the original article.

“I just turned down the new Muppet movie,” Grodin told me Tuesday. “I was in The Great Muppet Caper and I think they are bringing back those of us still alive for a reprise. Jim Henson was dear to me but I’m not flying 6000 miles to Los Angeles to work one day.” He’s nixed recent overtures by Brett Ratner and Adam Sandler because their films also required cross country travel.

I wonder what Sandler had in mind for him. It was probably JACK & JILL, right?
