Later!

I was hoping for sooner!

At a certain point, this sort of thing just makes it look like you love it. That point was at least two posts ago.

It is very watchable and entertaining but I think the people that rated it so high may think that for different reasons.

My friend Ernest did this interview with Beatty when the movie came out.  Well worth a read.

Memorial Day weekend '98 was a very interesting time: Bulworth, Godzilla, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas opened at the same time.  You'd be hard-pressed to find a big summer weekend that had three movies as diverse as that opening (and it looks like Titanic was still in the Top Ten that weekend as well).

I saw BULWORTH on that Memorial weekend. I convinced my mom and stepdad to come with me because they both liked Beatty. Their "What the fuck was that?" reaction on the walk back to the car was pretty funny.

In 2001, I remember thinking that SHREK, PEARL HARBOR, and THE MUMMY RETURNS made theaters explode that memorial day weekend.

Memorial Day weekend 1998, I saw FEAR AND LOATHING Friday night, DEEP IMPACT Saturday afternoon, and GODZILLA Sunday afternoon.  Yeah, I didn't have much of a life back then.

Back in 2001, I saw SHREK Saturday night with my girlfriend and THE MUMMY RETURNS on Sunday afternoon by myself.  I'm still surprised I missed PEARL HARBOR in theaters.  I remember the trailer playing before WAY OF THE GUN back in September 2000.

I'm kind of surprised Wolfe wanted to see BULWORTH ahead of GODZILLA.

I'd already seen GODZILLA. It opened midweek.

I love that something as innocent as brother Wolfe has put together her has turned into a drag down, knuckle out battle over BULWORTH.

ps - On the '98 tip, talkin' Mya....  "Take Me There" > "Ghetto Superstar"

1998 was nice all around for tie-in soundtrack albums. Godzilla's was pretty good; my favorite song off it is definitely Jamiroquai's "Deeper Underground", but The Wallflowers' "Heroes" cover is great too.

The Wallflowers Video was better than the movie, for sures.  It had Carmen Lee!

I'm really glad people here also like the Godzilla soundtrack.  I remember the 90s in particular for having AMAZING soundtracks, even if the movies they were associated with were dumb or downright bad.  Godzilla and the Schumacher Bat-films epitomize this phenomenon for me.

Agreed.  It had a groove that made the booty move but was also 'heavy' enough to satisfy my inner no-longer-teenage dirtbag's questionable musical sensibilities.

Wasn't Take Me There on THE RUGRATS MOVIE soundtrack?
