This is how I've chosen to spend a lazy Sunday morning. This was hard because even though 1998 contains a few movies I love to pieces, once I got past the cream of the crop, about half the list was interchangeable mediocrities. Trying to figure out which is better, LOST IN SPACE, THE FACULTY or DR. DOLITTLE was rough. Anyway, feel free to make your own list or just politely ignore my inanity. Here's the reference list I used: http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/index1998.php----------------- RUSHMORE THE BIG LEBOWSKI LETHAL WEAPON 4 THE TRUMAN SHOW THE X-FILES: FIGHT THE FUTURE FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS A SIMPLE PLAN BRIDE OF CHUCKY BLADE DIRTY WORK BULWORTH OUT OF SIGHT AMERICAN HISTORY X THE WEDDING SINGER SAVING PRIVATE RYAN HALLOWEEN: H20 THE OPPOSITE OF SEX WILD THINGS RUSH HOUR CAN’T HARDLY WAIT THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY DEEP IMPACT ROUNDERS ENEMY OF THE STATE ORGAZMO BASEKETBALL WAKING NED DEVINE ZERO EFFECT A NIGHT AT THE ROXBURY STAR TREK: INSURRECTION VAMPIRES THE WATERBOY U.S. MARSHALS TWO GIRLS AND A GUY ARMAGEDDON THE NEGOTIATOR DEAD MAN ON CAMPUS DARK CITY THE THIN RED LINE LOST IN SPACE THE FACULTY DR. DOLITTLE THE BIG HIT HALF BAKED PALMETTO MERCURY RISING SOUR GRAPES ALMOST HEROES CITY OF ANGELS SNAKE EYES 54 PSYCHO URBAN LEGEND SPECIES II GODZILLA PHANTOMS I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER THE AVENGERS KISSING A FOOL DISTURBING BEHAVIOR VERY BAD THINGS

Yeah, I don't like it. I watched it again last year and I still find it very uninvolving. But remember you're talking to a guy who puts LETHAL WEAPON 4 at #3.

I think DARK CITY got overpraised, but it had some really neat ideas and visuals that would be better realized later on. It is the proto MATRIX, but it is pretty proto.

The art direction is great, and I enjoy the weird Kiefer Sutherland performance, but that's kind of it for me.

Wow, "Very Bad Things" last? It would probably be in my top 3. But "Armageddon" would be #1, so what do I know?

Looking at my list, I could write a book about 1998 movies. Then again, looking at my list, it feels like I did. .
