Yeah, but once you see his behavior in the line and how he ran for that booth you can tell he was completely nuts.

The Avengers
Don't worry, no spoilers. But holy shit is that movie so much fucking fun! Wolfe is right in everything he said, save for the third act becoming a Michael Bay movie. Oh and Wolfe, I know the Hulk parts you're talking about and I laughed pretty hard too. All around a great movie and it really has a Joss feel to it.
Wolfe, I really liked having three Joss tv shows on at once but it's slightly hampered by it being the condensed FIREFLY, BUFFY Season Seven and ANGEL Season Four, I always thought those seasons were the weakest for those shows. But hell, a weak Joss season usually beats out most other TV.

You misunderstood me. I didn't mean the movie was amazing until it became a Michael Bay movie. I meant it becomes an awesome, Bizarro-world version of a Michael Bay movie. That third act is basically exactly what Bay was going for in all the TRANSFORMERS movies, only successful and fun and without me popping Excedrin and praying for it to end. Also, I love Season 4 of ANGEL and thought Season 7 of BUFFY was an uptick in quality from Season 6.

OK, I get what you're saying. It's just in Bay movies the action just seems mindless and all over the place for no reason and that defenitly doesn't describe the third act. Yeah it's deep in action but I feel everything and what everybody does means something. I would go into more detail but I won't till a spoiler thread. The first half of season four of ANGEL is good and I loved the Angelus stuff but the evil Cordy/Jasmine stuff with bitch Conner kills that season for me. Season Seven of Buffy is just so so blah, no real stand out episodes and the endless potential slayers got annoying fast. Caleb was so so awesome though and should have been the Big Bad that season. I know Season Six gets shit on a lot but I really like that season myself and Evil Willow is just so bad ass.

It's not that high up for me, I like seasons 2 3 and 5 more but 6 is still really good. It has a good bummer feeling to it that they all gotta rise out of. And I'm a big Spike fan so six is ideal, you almost wish Buffy would take Spikes advice and just go to the dark side.

Apart from the musical and a few scattered good moments (Giles' "I'd like to test that theory" is one of the best moments in the show's history), Season 6 is almost entirely terrible. There is nothing in it that isn't a bad idea. Evil Willow is the one thing that could have worked in theory, but they botched it completely.

I don't even know what to say. Joel Murray was great, though.
Also saw FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT again. Still great. Kind of want those superlong Apatow cuts to keep forever, though.

I love the musical and I gotta admit that Giles part is so great and caught me by surprise but the rest of season six entirely terrible? I know it's a drop down in quality from season five but damn man. The Buffy/Spike relationship was really cool, nice and dark. I didn't like the whole attempted rape thing, that just went a bit far. I still can't get tearie eyed when Tara says "Your shirt". And how did they botch Evil Willow she was so bad ass and in everybody's face, it was great.

THE LORAX THE HUNGER GAMES PIRATES: BAND ON MISFITS new THE 3 STOOGES JOHN CARTER JOURNEY 2
---
PIRATES was ok, mainly because of the charm that Peter Lord and Aardman bring to it. But... I think it would have been better in Nick Parks hands. It really lacked the exciting 3rd act that he brings to his films. Too much London stuff and not enough pirate stuff. Nothing to really run out for if you don't have kids, but it was enjoyable none the less.

I thought he was great too. The girl as well. But the diatribes throughout were just so angsty that I could never really get into the movie.

AVENGERS
YAY! (no spoilers I promise)
This movie rocks. It's the first super hero comic book movie that FEELS like it's from a comic and not some remixing with another movie (Nolan's Batman) or a dark twisted personal vision removed from the comics (Burton). It felt like it had John Cassaday art.
It's a hell of an action movie, Joss Whedon seems to use his OCD thing of EVERY-PART-MUST-FIT and so the action always makes sense.
The fights! Whedon takes the best parts of all types of action movies, the best of Bay, the best of the Matrix series and Bourne Identity.
The characters work! I'd heard some weird nonsense about egos and contracts and "not wearing masks" and I was worried the movie would just give each character X amount of screentime just so they wouldn't walk, but not one scene is useless. Every "This is X's time to show his acting chops" scene worked pretty beautifully. Every character in this movie works and is interesting in a way they haven't been in any other of their respectives movies, I left the theater wanting to see standalone Hawkeye and Black Widow movies. Hawkeye was rad and Hulk is finally compelling and incredible.
I've seen it two times and the only complaint I might have had is that watching it suffered a bit seeing it in a normal screen compared to IMAX.
