This is the same as King claiming it's ok for him to make racist jokes because he's gay, no?

More akin to saying it's okay to make gay jokes if you're gay.  Rob wrote what he knows.

Not that I condone it, mind you, I'm just spitballing why the reporters may have thought his shit less stinky than King's.

Yeah, but she's the female lead. Lead characters aren't supposed to tell racist jokes. Of course, this is the "Two and a half Men" network, so I may not have much of a leg to stand on with this one.

I do find it funny that this show got pilloried, but the Chuck Lorre panel and the new Rob Schneider, "I married a Mexican!" show got out unscathed.

!Rob! got reviewed. Not looking good.

"It’s supposed to be funny because she’s Mexican-American, in somewhat the same way that it’s supposed to be funny — rather than a tiresome Hollywood delusion — that her impossibly tall and attractive daughter (Claudia Bassols) has eloped with an obsessive-compulsive schlub who’s pushing 50 and has just discovered guacamol"

Although it's nice to see Eugenio Derbez got a favorable mention. It'll be interesting seeing him do a sitcom, he's pretty big in Mexico.

He also had a weirdly important role in Jack & Jill.

It's just good business thinking including him in stuff, he's the only comedian who's managed to have a succesful sitcom in México in the last few years. Compound to that the fact Two and a Half Men and BBT are huge in latin america, if they can do it right they'll be seeing huge returns.

¡Rob! wasn't horrible.  Derbez and Marin were fun and the mother didn't strike me as a Latino caricature so much as an in-law caricature.

I watched it.  It was horrible, but more bland than WHITNEY or CHELSEA type annoying.

I thought Cheech and Eugenio were funny, but all the "white guy misunderstanding mexican culture" jokes were terrible.

Tonight they added a new reoccurring character; she's Polish.

It's as if they're taunting us at this point.

One of the punchlines tonight was "You really put the 'ho' in 'Kinko's.'" That doesn't even make sense!
