Well I'll be... I've been watching her for years on AD and Better Off Ted and don't recall ever once suspecting she might not be a native American.
Seriously? I didn't know anything about her prior to watching AD, except for the Ellen stuff, but it was pretty obvious that she was Australian. She has the same thing as '80s Mel Gibson, where her pronunciation of certain words betrays the accent. Like I said, it was so noticeable that I kept expecting them to make a joke out of it.

I don't have a great ear for accents, so even though I knew she was Australian I never really thought it was coming through.
I can only pick it up when it's really obvious, like Fassbender in FIRST CLASS or Gary Oldman whenever he yells in THE DARK KNIGHT.

See, to me, Oldman sounds flawlessly American in DARK KNIGHT. Ears are funny.

I consider myself to be pretty decent at identifying the accents of native speakers of the major Celtic, Germanic, Hellenic, and Western Romance languages, but only when they aren't being actively disguised or suppressed. When they are, I'm usually stuck at "What's wrong with their voice?"
I haven't re-watched Arrested Development as often or as recently as Better Off Ted, so my memory of her accent (or apparent lack thereof) is almost entirely based on BOT. Maybe it improved significantly.

For the most part, it is. No question about it. But in specifically the scene where he and Dent are yelling at each other on the rooftop of the GCPD building (and Batman is standing nearby like "I'm here too, you guys!"), it's like he's not even trying. But he's Gary Oldman, so who cares. He's awesome, accent or no accent. I was just using it as an example.

It's filming on the same set as the 24 movie.

The 24 movie was on the very next page after AD in that gallery. I've actually read that the best thing the 24 and AD movies have going for them is that Brian Grazer and Ron Howard both really want them to happen.

So then they'll be out right after THE DARK TOWER?

A crossover movie would be fine. Jack could torture Iraq intel out of George Sr., Tobias could infiltrate CTU with his cat-like reflexes, George Michael could be revealed to have been a mole the entire time. Writes itself.

On a somewhat related note, I just finished the first season of PARTY DOWN on my summer tour of TV shows I should have watched a billion years ago. It's awesome, but probably the most depressing comedy I've seen since UK OFFICE (LOUIE is my next stop, so that one might well be more depressing). And I keep reading about how they're planning to make a movie version of it as well, which obviously won't happen. I'd be happy if it did, but I can hardly think of a TV show that should be a movie less than this one.

I completely disagree, I think Party Down could absolutely benefit from the sort of artificial high-stakes a feature movie allows, like them catering a Hollywood Premiere Party or one of the characters' wedding,
