I didn't see Married With Children, but I was really happy to see that they decided to go with showing the first episode of The Simpsons. It's always jarring for me to remember how different most of the characters were back then.
The 25th Anniversary special was fine. Nothing groundbreaking, obviously very self-congratulatory, but they gave time to a lot of shows that I didn't think might get any air time at all (Arrested Development, Firefly). I wish they would have given more time to some of the failed shows over the years (there was a quick flash of a sitcom called Women in Prison during the opening credits, that was about it), but I guess I understand why they didn't. I thought it was strange that they saved That 70's Show for almost the very end, as though it was one of their most important shows. Is it seen that way? I always thought it was an amusing show, but nothing beyond that. And also, it annoyed me how much time they wasted on American Idol, but I expected that.
Worst part of the evening was the Earth Day ad that was a video of Seth MacFarlane, but he was doing the whole thing in the voice of Peter Griffin. Did he think people wouldn't give a shit if it was just him, or did they not have time to animate it, and just said "fuck it"?

The MWC pilot is still funny after all these years. Al first meeting Steve and Marcy and mouthing "I hate these people!" to Peg still cracked me up. I thought it was strange that they saved That 70's Show for almost the very end, as though it was one of their most important shows.
It's probably because Kutcher and Kunis are big deals now and both agreed to appear. Technically they closed with IN LIVING COLOR, which was even more surprising.

Haven't they announced that they're doing a re-boot of In Living Color in the fall with an all-new cast? I'd imagine that's why it got the big push. I always feel bad for David Faustino in these reunion gigs. Come on someone, toss him a bone. Christina Applegate could put him in a "Sweetest Thing" direct-to-DVD sequel or something..

Yeah, I felt terrible for Faustino too. It must really suck for him that the other three are still very successful and he's doing drywall or working at a call center or something.

Wow, I'm actually surprised - I looked up his imdb and he's actually kept fairly busy with voiceover work (I don't watch The Last Airbender, but I guess he's on it, along with some other stuff).
Good for you, Grandmaster B.

He probably made a decent whack off Married With Children as well. It did run for ten years after all.

I was shocked and saddened whenever David Faustino and Corin Nemec (THEY HUNG OUT) acted like grandmaster B in real life. Which was a lot.

I didn't get to see the 25th anniversary shows. Any shout-outs to Babes or Stand By Your Man?

Not that I remember, but a small chunk of time was devoted to Mr. Personality hosted by Monica Lewinsky. That show was wild with the masks and all.

Yeah, they did little montages of a ton of failed shows in-between 10 minute tributes to "Family Guy".
