I think Geek, Nigel and Variant are all gonna happen, for sure.  But not for a little bit.

I can't stop looking at the first strip.  It's so damn good.  James' art is beautiful.  Hopefully I still have Monkey Man's "voice" down.

This is awesome!  Can't wait to see where it pops up.  Monkey Man was the first thing of yours I saw, I believe.  I remember finding it on Movie Poop Shoot once upon a time.  Naturally, I forwarded it around my office.  I miss those days.

Congrats!  Between this and the ANP cartoons, I'm feeling nostalgic this year.

Considering it was a weekly strip, I was always surprised how many people knew me from that most of all. I guess because it was on Kevin's site, which got a lot of traffic.

I think Monkey Man is the character I've written the most, when you take in the original strips, and the animated show, and ASK MONKEY MAN, and the 100 strips, and MONKEY MAN UNLEASHED, and MONKEY MAN ON THE MOON, and MUGSY X.

Sorry for not being more supportive, I'm actually super pumped for this (as I am everything you do) but, much like with Pat, I don't know Monkey Man's world quite as well because i burned through most of it really fast well before I ever came to this forum so I didn't really have any requests.

Totally cool.  I hope you like the new strips, which don't require any knowledge of the characters to enjoy.  Even when we introduce an old character, they make it quite clear who they are.

Just know that Monkey Man is a simple-minded super powered blue monkey.

And Monkey Boy is his loud-mouthed, even more simple minded purple monkey little brother.

Ape Dude is a surfer monkey that gets on Monkey Man's nerves.

Variant is a yellow monkey who is a clone of Monkey Man, and fancies himself Monkey Man's arch enemy.  He's much smarter than Monkey Man, and comes with a variant exclusive oven mitt.

Other characters:

Bootleg Monkey Man is an even worse clone of Monkey Man, made in a foreign sweatshop.

Geek and Nigel 7 are nerdy friends of Monkey Man.

The General is an army general who has it out for Monkey Man.  He has a hot assistant who loves him, but the General was too filled with rage to notice.  She finally spoke up and they fell in love.

The Crowdpleasers are a super hero group that wanted Monkey Man and Monkey Boy to be their mascots.  They consist of:

Private School Girl, a ninja girl in a private school uniform.

90's Dinosaur, who is a grunge loving dinosaur thawed out from the 90's.

Jersey Devil is a mullet-sporting demon who loves Bon Jovi.

Emma is the Crowdpleaser's leader and is quite boring so she has to make up an origin every time we meet her.

Shaolin Munk is a martial arts chipmunk.

Kevin is Pat's arch-enemy, who turns his attention to Monkey Man because Monkey Man is more popular than Pat.

Pat and Mugsy are Monkey Man's old room-mates, but they're not in the series much.

Linus Spawn is Linus from PEANUTS as drawn by Todd McFarlane with a big flowing security blanket cape.

Big Bird Clone is a clone of Big Bird.  That one is easy.

Poppy is a hot human actress friend of Monkey Man that Monkey Man has a crush on.

I think that covers everyone, doesn't it?

Yes, thank you!

Monkey Lady is Monkey Man's pink ex-girlfriend who now hates him.

Giraffe Guy is a green giraffe who is currently dating Monkey Lady and has Monkey Envy.

I heart Ape Dude.

I also still love the transcript of Monkey Man invading the AICN chat room.

Oh Sucky kinda has to come back, doesn't he?  He was in an ANP animated episode, but I don't think we're doing it.

I wish we had visual cues too.

Reading the old MM strips (classic stuff returns tomorrow), the Crowdpleasers are really fun.  Gotta bring them back.

I'd like to cast another vote for 90s Dinosaur, please. Did he and Eddie Vedder ever interact? They must have, right?

I can't wait for the 22nd now, I missed Monkey Man. I forgot about some of MM characters and now I'm even more pumped for it. Getting Kevin and MM back together again is awesome, my two favorite characters.
