New blood is coming! And we're letting readers pic the recurring characters. But first, we take a side step next week, into something pretty awesome...

...saw next week's strip. James Stayte is a genius. Holy shit. It's a return from ONE more monkey. Briefly. And then, we launch into the SEARCH FOR A NEW SUPPORTING CHARACTER!
And week 3 is locked and loaded, sent to Film Threat. Yay for being ahead of schedule!

http://www.filmthreat.com/features/40073/Week 3. This is one of my favorites ever. Click TWICE for big enjoyment! There is a typo. It will be fixed, I swears it! As always, if you like it, help spread the word AND please post about it here AND on Film Threat. Want to keep the numbers up. Thanks everyone!

"she if she" or "pass the muster"? I really like the "Enjoy!" one. The background looks crazy-cool; is that an actual photo with a filter on it or just a different-style drawing with a filter on it? Either way, kudos to Stayte, this is my favorite of his drawerings yet. I just clicked your Twitter link, and I had the same thought about 'Louie', *especially* after the daughter had repeatedly begged him to keep the duck. It worked as it was, but I couldn't believe he'd give up a duckling that had saved his life.

The Afghan girl was the same age as his daughter and he just saw them all as just as human as he was, and she might have just been shot and killed in a fire-fight based on a misunderstanding. And she STILL might, a few hours or days or weeks after Louie climbs into that copter. It was perfect, to give that little girl the duck, to maybe keep her safe. And MONKEY MAN: oh boy, these are wonderful. "Shot in 2D, if that." It reminded me of one of those great MAD panels, where there's a million jokes packed densely inside.

I like how "pass the muster" sounds. I know it's "pass muster" but my way sounds awkward and thus funny. Should I change it?

There's no need, I only noticed because you mentioned a typo.

It's gonna be changed anyhoo. James did it up, I sent it to Film Threat.
That's the last old character you'll see for a while, save for MM and MB. Next week: the search for a supporting character BEGINS!

For whatever it's worth, I definitely like the idea of having one-off panels like this to off-set serializing stories.

I like your tribute to Adam Scott.

I want to say that we're talking about a LOT of different movies, but, yeah, that's mostly an Adam Scott reference.

Is the checking her phone messages thing a specific reference?

No, we just liked the idea of an actor checking her messages in-scene.
