He didn't care when Weird Al did it, he probably wouldn't have cared about this. He didn't just not care, he excitedly gave permission. Even though he's covered by parody, Al is a total class act and always gets permission from the original artists. He called them when they were the musical guest on SNL and cleared it with Kurt himself, who's only concern was if it would be a food song. Unless he hated the Muppets (and what 70s/80s kids, especially counter-culture 70s/80s kids, hated the Muppets?), I doubt he'd be upset.

I don't think she approved that Doc Martens ad. And she didn't have him killed. I mean, she didn't help the situation but of course neither did he.
The thing that's really annoying about this is that Dave and Krist both gave permission and Dave is IN the freaking movie. She sold her right for any say. It's just disrespectful to the rest of the band to say this stuff.

Now now, he's a nice guy an' all, but the whole "HIV doesn't cause AIDS" thing him and the band have going on is a bit weird. He hasn't mentioned it lately, but he hasn't contradicted it either.

I'm not hating the dumbess.
She hates him for getting money from Nirvana still when she thinks it should all go to her.

I like Courtney. She was nothing but nice the few times I talked to her (manic, but nice). And I like Dave. And I love the Muppets. And I think Nirvana/Kurt is one of the most overrated bands/artists of all time to the point where I'm what the web might deem a "hater." Damn it... I don't know where to lay my loyalty.
*does the math* *computes*
Why is this even a story? Like now? Did Courtney just find out about it? Wait... she said the stupid "rape" thing? Hmmm.... okay...scales have tipped.
Point: Grohl/Frog/Pig/overrated guy

I remain baffled as to why people think Grohl or Novoselic's permission has anything to do with the ethical or legal right to use Nirvana music. They had only a few percentage of the musical rights to Nirvana songs, and none of the lyric rights -- by Cobain's deliberate arrangement. They both seem like fine people and great musicians, and I admire Grohl's own creative work in the Foo Fighters -- but legally and practically, they were merely supporting players in Nirvana, not creators.
The players in the NY Philharmonic don't grant permission for the use of Beethoven. Just saying.
I fully expect everyone to disagree with that; they always do. But it is how Kurt arranged it.
That having been said, Courtney did, in fact, sell away her right to complain, and her statement is Novak-ridiculous and offensive. Then again, I don't take much she says seriously. Who knows what state of mind she's in.
I have no idea if Kurt would have liked or hated the Muppets nod. It's hard to tell.

I would guess a simple look at the publishing.
