I couldn't find a general video game thread, so I figured this could be that.
I finally finished ALAN WAKE last weekend. Even though I don't think I understood the majority of the ending, I still enjoyed it. I like games that leave stuff up to interpretation, which is fairly rare, so I enjoyed being sort of confused by it. I feel like I'll need to play it again to really get everything that happened, and it certainly feels like it needs a sequel, but I doubt it'll actually get one. Then again, there was a DJ HERO 2, so anything's possible.
I'm playing CRYSIS 2 now. It's a blast, even though I thought after BLACK OPS I was going to be done with FPS's for a while. The realistic New York setting is unique, though I could see where some people might get offended at the sight of aliens firing rockets into NYC skyscrapers and collapsing them. The graphics are amazing, as is the sound, but my only complaint is that I'm still playing on a standard TV and the onscreen text (which explains a TON of stuff) is clearly designed for a widescreen tv. As a result, I literally can't read a large percentage of the text that's really important, such as descriptions of the different powerups for the nanosuit, etc. I realize I'm the one at fault for not having a widescreen TV by now, but it's still kind of annoying.
What are you guys playing right now?

My co-worked just brought in the Nintendo 3DS. It was pretty cool but after playing if for about 5 minutes I had a headache and my eyes were f'ed up. I predict lawsuits.

My roommate got ALAN WAKE not long after it came out. He really disliked the game play and ended up trading it in for FINAL FANTASY 13 so I never got to play it. Are you going to get any of the extra story DLC stuff? I really like the idea of the ongoing TV show thing it has going. I'm finishing up DRAGON AGE 2. It's a lot of fun but unfortunately not as huge and dorky of an RPG as the first one.

I've been playing Battlestar Galactica Online lately. It's pretty fun but you can't really get the cool big ships unless you spend money to get the cubits to buy one. Otherwise, though, it's free, which is a-okay with me.

I already downloaded the first one, because it was free, I played for about 20 minutes and it sort of fits into my theory of what's actually going on in the game, but I'd like to finish it before I say too much, plus if no one here has played it, I'm not going to bore you guys with my theories.

I tried out the 3DS in Target the other day. I found if I had the 3D slider all the way up it strained my eyes, but with the slider up just a tiny little bit, there was some subtle 3D and it looked fantastic.
$250 is a bit too much for a handheld system, though, in my opinion. I'll pick up a used one when they come out with a new Zelda game for it.

Black Ops was owning residency in my 360, but ever since I purchased MLB 2K11, I've been playing that nonstop.

I'm slogging through Fallout: New Vegas. It's great, but I'm stuck on my current mission (Get The King's robohounddog to this dude up in the mountains), having to deal with those fucking obnoxious butterfly guys, THEN a ranch full of tweaked out freaks with guns. Died more here than the whole rest of the game.

Wow, coming from you I think that seals it for me. It looks like a lot of old school fun. While I for the most part enjoy the new games, I still yearn for games like Wrestlefest, which is probably my favorite wrestling game. I'll definitely check it out. I mean, Macho Man is in it and that alone makes it worth it.

I picked it up yesterday and it's a riot. The little touches are what make it great - when you throw your opponent up in the air for a big move, it switches to slow-motion and does the little "Six-Million Dollar Man" ta-na-na-na-na-na-na sound effect.

I used to like that game, SNES era that was kind of NBA JAMS-ish, where, like, Razor Ramon had arms that turned into razors and Doink the clown had a giant mallet that appeared out of nowhere as a special move. McMahon did the voices, which were a lot of generic phrases that cycled through when you pulled off any move and were stitched together by separate sound files. "You gotta give credit...to Doink!"
