This and HOP are supposed to be before RANGO.  I OWN YOUR CHILDREN'S EYES FOR 3 AND A HALF MINUTES.

Damn! I didn't realize it was that far along, as I hadn't heard anything in awhile. That is awesome!  I love that character so much that he was the only thing that kept me interested in the last few Shrek movies. Can't wait to see this.

I hope I get a credit.  I did not write the "Puss dances to modern music while walking down the street" moment.

Man you getting that gig seems so long ago.  And I remember at the time you said the release year, which seemed forever away.

We got the teaser poster in earlier this week, which is pretty much the same image as the trailer page, but damned if doesn't make for a great looking poster.

I like to think at the end when he says all he needs are the boots that he's floating on air.

Pray For Mercy?  This indicates a very different tone than expected.

Saw RANGO, there was the HOP trailer followed directly by PUSS IN BOOTS trailer.  It was an all Lynch movie going experience (will except for RANGO)

Looks good! Is there any mention in the film about Puss having to lose weight after the last Shrek?

I would guess it would be a prequel anyway, but wasn't that fat Puss only in an alternate reality?

Yeh. He was only fat in the Shrekless world.

I am so peeved. We got into RANGO as it was starting, due to the ticket machines being out of order and having to use the long line with actual people. I missed the trailers. And I didn't end up liking RANGO that much.

Ah, yes so it was. I completely forgot that the majority of the film was a Shrekless reality. Thanks for clearing that up!

Nothing like a bad mood to ruin a perfectly good movie.

In the end, did the inconvenience ruin the movie for you, or was it just the movie?

No, no-- that didn't ruin the movie. I just felt like it was flawed for being a kids movie, and I was there with my kids, who didn't connect to it the way they do to other movies. I explain (at too much length, probably) in the 2011 movie rating thread.

I think it is a good movie for adults who like kids movies, but not a good kids movie for kids who like kids movies. Sort of like those super-100-points-of-articulation action figures that are objectively cool and awesome, but somehow uninviting for actual kids to actually play with the way, say, SECRET WARS or SUPERPOWERS figures were.

Depp was great, the art and direction was beautiful. Just not inviting. It was sometimes too ugly for its own good and hit enough sour notes to be flawed for me. But I could see where others might love it.
