I plan on buying two to four copies of Puss on Blu-ray tomorrow. Got to wondering -- which does the industry consider more successful: a new release that sells a ton on the first day or one that sells well for a long period of time? (assuming the same total sales figure in the end) Impact vs Legs ?

They don't all happen on Fridays, just stuff that (my theory) they know is gonna do really well. STAR WARS on Blu was Friday, and THE TOWN was Friday, etc...
