Did Phil just quote "A very famous japanese horseman"? I rewound it like five times to make sure he said horseman. I want to know if he's quoting the funniest obscure person to quote ever or am I just not hearing it correctly.

Quote
...and tells the camera about Miyamoto Musashi, a famous Japanese horseman, who wrote a book entitled, "The Book of Five Rings." He quotes the author as saying to let your enemy go first. Phillip feels that Rob's weakness is his need for total control.

Pretty boring episode for the most part but "The Cult of Rob" is fascinating.   He's playing a brilliant game.  He's got his whole tribe SO whipped that he's guaranteed to get the votes at the end from the other tribe.  If you were one of them would you vote for Rob, or one of his little minions that had zero brains for themselves.
I think even after he picks off his own people they will thank him as they are leaving for keeping them around so long.

I love that he named his tribe after one of Amber's stuffed animals.

I can't wait till the reunion episode where we find out what Philip's actual job has been.

Didn't they already figure out he was a mail clerk or something? I think one of those reality TV expose websites figured that out.

No, if I wanted to spoil it, I'd say that Rob brings Philip and one other random tribe member to the final three, and then the random person wins because the jury is always a bunch of whiny losers.

Note: This isn't actually a spoiler, just an educated guess.

I think the only way Rob could lose this thing is if Jesus Boy manages to stay alive and return from Redemption Island as one of the final 3.  It will give the jury an out.  They CAN'T vote for any of Rob's lackeys but by then Rob will have screwed them all over (although odds are the Cult of Rob won't even feel screwed over).

It's going to be depressing if Rob somehow doesn't win a game he dominated so throughly. I think voting out
Grant
this episode was a mistake though.

If Matt makes it back from Redemption Island to the finals, I can see them giving him the million, even though he had absolutely no social game.

Not necessarily.   If he voted off the other girl she would have NEVER forgiven him and he would have lost her vote.  However Grant will just rationalize that Rob voted him off because he was a stronger player and it will feed into his ego and Rob will still get his vote.

Grant or the blond chick HAVE to come back from Redemption Island.  If Matt comes back he's definitely got the million and if the other guy from the other tribe comes back I think hes got the numbers to win the vote.

So sending Grant this week was also better for that reason.  He's got a better chance of coming back then tho girl.  There's no real danger of the girls teaming with whomever comes back from Redemption because whomever comes back will come back as one of the final 3.

Also, when Grant was walking to Redemption Island he wasn't sure if it was Rob or Phillip who blindsided him, so Rob may not have lost his vote.

I don't know if Rob played that great of a game or if the majority of the people he played with were just ridiculously dumb but I'm glad he finally won.

Yeah, me too. He really managed the difficult feat of bringing the two most useless players to the final with him brilliantly.

It was hilarious how little time they gave Russell during the reunion, and how bitter he still was.

It was a combination of both.  He knew how dumb they all were and played accordingly.

I think he might have hurt the show.  It's going to be like going to a Bulls game the season after Jordon left.  Or like trying watch the Real World the season after Vegas.

Anyone know who they are bringing back next season?
