Yeah, the All-Star season and this season really kinda robbed Russell of whatever mystique he had. His strategy didn't really change after losing in the finale twice.
Doesn't Russell rob Russell of mystique? I didn't watch those seasons, but seems like no one could expect his tactics to work on anyone who was aware they might exist. It's kind of annoying that he almost got away with it. Why was anyone voting for Stephanie? I love that spitting challenge though. Hope they bring that back.

That was the Russell mystique. He manipulated everyone against their better judgement and they knew what he was doing the whole time. It was insane. He might have been playing with a bunch of idiots but either way he was only great at getting to the end to not win. I think he was also the first person to find the immunity idol without any clues and he did it multiple times. Although now they clearly make it easier for people to do that.

Yes, the fact that people are now finding the hidden immunity idols by accident is a sign that they're just not trying as hard anymore.

It seems like he created an atmosphere in which he could manipulate people to do what clearly they shouldn't do. Also, he would show them the idol he'd found, no? That seems to be able to get anyone to do anything. Or used to anyway. Being good at finding something isn't the same as being the only one looking, either.

I may have missed it; when does the person on Redemption Island get to come back - at the merge?

I don't think they should send witnesses to the showdowns. It should be a surprise to the tribes who comes back.

They also should have let them continue thinking it was a sword battle instead of just a normal challenge.

Before tonight I never noticed the question mark on "Phillip: Former Federal Agent?" Survivor editors are the best.

Natalie: Professional Dancer (from LA)
= stripper?
Yeah, the ? had me wondering last week. Obviously the producers know, and then this week he said he was a garbage man in the army and was honorably discharged. Something is clearly up.

She's a cheerleader. For a boxing team. I mean, obviously. http://www.lamatadors.com/

I wish Kristina hadn't launched into Phillip so fast so we could have heard him try and convince everyone without talking to them beforehand to turn on Rob. You'd think someone would have tipped Jeff off to talk to him first. Or that you just would know by now to do that.

Did they take a Julie interview from last week and use before the challenge in this one? It seemed like she'd forgotten they won since they threw that challenge.
Also, Natalie looked like she didn't know what donuts were.

Yeah the Julie thing was weird. I loved that Rob has to do semi-risky things now to just to avoid boredom. I feel like everyone on Rob's tribe have never watched the show before.

They certainly haven't watched any that Rob's been on.
