I didn't like it at all. It felt three seconds off, pacing-wise in the delivery of every line. Louis' life and take on life now IS depressing, but it also wasn't that funny.

I've subscribed to it on Hulu, so I'll let you know what I think of it in eight days.

Don't be sad Steve, Louis is now a bachelor millionaire, ...
I think I would find it less depressing if they played up this part a bit more. Other then the Limos for the school kids they never give any indication that the Louis "character" has a lot of money. (not that money = happiness, it's just that sad, lonely and poor is a little more depressing then sad, lonely and r i c h). Also it hits a little close to home, I'm 42, kinda look like him (if I put on a bunch of weight and let my hair grow out a little more), have 2 kids. I'm not divorced, so that's a big difference but the humor hits a little hard sometimes (i.e. the "your never going to have a better day then yesterday" bit ). If I got divorced I would be him (minus the money, but as I said the show doesn't really address that).

I just heard him on Fresh Air with Terry Gross and it was a great interview. A really interesting deconstruction of where his head is at with certain types of shock-value jokes.

Ah! Another ANP'er who is also an NPR'er. Yup, great interview, should be up online any second.

Yes it does. And don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I don't like the show (I'm still on the fence). I found last nights ep a wierd mix of funny and depressing. I laughed out loud a bunch of times. He Gervais stuff was brilliant.

I fell asleep soon after the 1st one; Jolene tells me the next one was funnier.

I'm confused about the pronunciation of his name. I'm fairly sure I've at least heard Conan, who worked with him for years, pronounce it "Louie", but in episode 1 when he's calling for the limos, he says "This is Louis CK" and pronounces it "lewis". What's the deal?
Also, as long as we're on the subject, the show's called Louie, not Louis.
EDIT: A bunch of people called him "Louie" on tonight's episode, so I guess it's that. I really liked this week's, I never would've thought I'd see the day when freaking Nick DiPaolo pulls off a relatively affecting dramatic performance.

I love this show. His riff on the homeless guy in episode 3 was classic. "This guy... this guy WAS piss".

Louie said in an interview that all the stand up bits are material he would've used for his special. You've gotta give it to the guy, any other comedian would use throw away bits instead of burning off A material on tv.

Opie and Anthony should put out a Best of Louis C.K. series. He's never not hilarious on it and he's on for 4 hours a time.

The last time they did a themed "Worst Of" week during vacation with each day focusing on another regular guest, he was supposed to be the Friday show. But he didn't record bumpers like everyone else did, so they aired something else instead I believe. I remember being really disappointed.

I loved that third episode. The stand up bits were probably the funniest and best written stuff I've heard in years, the hobo bit was genius. The Ricky Gervais sketch was amazing, specially because of Louie's retarded moans "aw c'mon... you're a dick... jeez". the Nick Dipaolo stuff was funny and also a very moving view of two middle aged men's friendship. This series is great, I'm happy Louis CK finally hit it on the head. Opie and Anthony should put out a Best of Louis C.K. series. He's never not hilarious on it and he's on for 4 hours a time.
Shit I gotta look for that. Here's the next step of Louis's demolition of his own body,. Louis CK - Restaurant Ordering Impression
