I really liked the short were he was out on a date. If they can iron out some kinks, take away that student short vibe it has, they could really have something. It also helped that the stand up bits were pretty brilliant.
I thought the second episode was much warmer than the first, they nailed the look and feel of the flashbacks and the kid was great as a semi-retarded tween Louie. It was like an Irish-Catholic Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I thought it was great all around. All the sketches were funny but the stand up bits are definitely the highlights.
His fight with the bus driver made me laugh. "What kind of person are you?"

I liked both episodes a lot. I just wish I hadn't already seen one of the major punchlines here: Louis CK and a child

I was just kind of depressed about it. I found it hard to laugh at the funny parts because of that.
I hadn't known that he got a divorce in real life and haven't heard any of his "divorce" stand up so I was learning about it first here on this show. I'm sure that contributed to the depressing aspect of it. His former stand up was so centered around family that this really bummed me out.
Even the stand up segments made me sad.

You weren't surprised he got divorced, he only talked badly about his wife.
From what I read his kids see a lot of him, they're with him half the week. He sounds like a very good dad.

I wouldn't say I was surprised, just unaware that it had happened.

I really liked it a lot. I can't imagine that many people will, though. But, since it's so cheap and the critics seem to like it, I'm hoping FX will be willing to give it a chance to blossom, like they have with It's Always Sunny... and Archer, neither of which did well their first seasons. It's weird that FX is now producing the best comedy on TV.

The picture behind them when Gervais gives him the rectal exam... what a random, great joke.

This is an odd show but it's already grown on me. I do wish there was more stand up cause it's always awesome.

Don't be sad Steve, Louis is now a bachelor millionaire, he'll find a way to be happy. Joking aside, he sounds less depressed now than he did when he was married, I remember a podcast I heard where he talked about how miserable and unappreciated he felt.

So you can say "cock" but not "cunt" on FX? How odd.
