the video was a trailer for an upcoming update to the game.  It should be out in a couple weeks, according to this interview with the creator.

I feel like a dummy for not realizing sophia was the tank from blaster master. Sounds like that'll be coming in the future; hopefully nintendo or any of the other license holders won't shut him down before he gets to do so.

It's just that I probably know too much about NES games.

If I had this guys skill set, I'd add the Mario's from a selection of games he has appeared in, specially Mario2&3 and Mario Land.

I really love this game and can't wait for future updates. Which oddball character would you place in that game, aside from the obvious characters? Personally I would love to see Fester from Festers Quest in that game.

Super Joe (I think that's his name) from BIONIC COMMANDO. Tanooki Mario from SMB 3, in the SMB world.

Wow, I hadn't even got to your second sentence, and "Fester" popped right in my head.  Loved that game.  The ship from Life Force could be cool.  Hhmmm, maybe Karnov or Kid Icarus?

Yeah I loved that game too even though it took me forever to beat it, one of those games I don't think gets enough recognition.
