This is a complete non-news story, and not even (imho) a legit threat.
You know, the more I think about it, I'm suspecting this is all a publicity stunt.

Yeah, it looks like CC did it. How stupid. I thought they were mocking CC. I was way wrong.

I did too when I first watched the episode.  When I saw that notice on South Park Studios it made me realize something was up.

A Statement from Matt and Trey
In the 14 years we've been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it.

"We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo van Gogh for airing this show," the group said.

Oh, see?  We've been blowing it out of proportion.  They were just trying to help.  What nice guys.

I just watched it again.  I'm even more sure that the only thing CC added was the bleeps over the name Mohammad.

EDIT:  guess I'm wrong.  Oh well, I still got a big laugh out of the bleeped speeches.

On a related note, did anyone get the DRAWN TOGETHER MOVIE on DVD?  I bet it's hysterical.

Does this brou-ha-ha have anything to do with why we haven't gotten a new Strong Bad email in, like, six months?

you mean DRAWN TOGETHER MOVIE: THE MOVIE.

See they add "the movie" to the title that had the word "movie".  See what they did there?

That's like calling it the Drawn Together Movie Film For Theaters (For DVD). They got scooped on that one.

That's exactly what I thought as well. I'm sure somewhere in the threat the group said something close to :"If you even use his name...".

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling Matt and Trey are pretty pissed. That, or A) as Dalton said they wussed out, or B) CC censored it behind their back (may have been what katy was saying) or C) both.

I have a really hard time believing Comedy Central added the beeps to the end.

Why?

Comedy Central bleeped a full minute of the show for no reason, since they don't mention Muhammed, adding their own meta-joke? It doesn't make any sense. Also Matt and Trey's reaction in the past to much less flagrant censorship has been to threaten to quit and this they are just letting it roll off their backs? It doesn't seem sincere. It seems like a "Tune in Next Week" stunt.

I totally take them at their word on this.  They've never done anything like what you suggest before.  They say directly in their statement that next week's show will have nothing to do with any of it.  They delivered the episode and CC bleeped all mentions of Mohammad and the final speech.  It makes sense to me.

Matt and Trey don't like to fuck with people? I think CC bleeped Muhammed and Matt and Trey are putting on about the final speech bleeps. The way it was edited those bleeps were obviously there from the beginning.
