SXSW always lands on my birthday and I've wanted to go for years, but for whatever reason I've never been able to sort it out - until now. Got the tickets, got a hotel, got flights. I'm pretty durn excited.

Anyway, my questions to the ANP hive mind are:

Anyone from here going?

If you've been before, how is it? Is it crazy busy and tough to get in to see stuff like Comic Con? Any tips?

And what's good in Austin? They have some crazy BBQ places I want to try out, but is there anything else that's unmissable?

I have yet to indulge in the SXSW thing but Austin is a very cool town.  Lots going on.  Be sure to check out Waterloo Records and Book People.  Last time I was there I had Fran's Burgers which was really good.  I've heard good things about Home Slice pizza too but I haven't had it yet.  The Caurosel Lounge is an odd little bar I played a gig at years ago that's kind of fun, if you're into weird/fun bars.

Yeah, Carousel was fun.  The centerpiece of the stage background was a giant pink elephant.  It's a career highlight, second only to having a hot dog named after me.
