For what it may be worth, I think BABYLON 5 had a skeletal "master plan" at its beginning.

It did indeed, but JMS left himself outs for characters just in case, say, your main actor leaves the show/was fired or other things liek that. I think Lost was less planned than but it did have a few fixed points with room to work in case better ideas came along.

It's aliens for sure. They're going to go through great lengths to not make it seem like Stargate, they're going to use words like "another place" and blinding lights. And yes, the Island is going to fly.

I don't think the acting was terrible, they did what they could when every line is meant to move the story forward. "I'm Very dissapointed in You People!".

No Lost talk? I guess I can't blame anyone, nothing happened. Does casting a lead from It's Always Sunny count as stunt casting? It took me out of the show a little when he showed up.

He was on the island before, but yeah, it was weird seeing Mac there. At least he's dead now. No Ben/Locke == Bad Lost episode. Make it a Kate-centric episode and quadruples the bad factor.  The only good that can come from last night is that Kate finally is giving up on Sawyer, so we can end that horrible plot point once and for all.

Oh, and Sawyer's line about Sayid was easily the highlight of the episode.

I forgot how ridiculously boring Claire is. And then they pair her with Kate so we can watch those two dynamos knock up against each other for an hour. Dick move, LOST.

I am curious just how many of the main characters they're intending to have taken over by evil island forces.

I guess they brought Clarie back to make fans happy, but I was perfectly fine with her staying gone.

I don't know; Claire as the new Rousseau could be interesting.

A lot of things could be interesting.  L O S T doesn't seem interested in those things though.

It was on tonight in the UK and it was dull as hell. I'm really not sold on this alternate reality bullshit. Either it's going to turn out that they stop the plane crash, in which case the alternate reality becomes real or it's just completely pointless.
Either way I don't like it.

I don't want the final series of Lost to be a chore but tonight's episode made it feel like it will be.

I'm thinking there could be a way for the two realities scenario to play out in an interesting way. Like the characters from the alternate reality (is there an annoying internet name for them yet?) trying to stop their island counter-parts from whiping them out. Like Infinite Crisis but less retarded.

I poured some ash around Lynch yesterday and nothing happened. There's one theory out the window.

We should give him a poison pill just to make sure.
