I just read that Lindelof and Cuse apparently intimated on Kimmel last night that Sayid isn't really going to be Sayid anymore (though isn't possessed by Jacob, apparently). So two of the best characters on the show are now just shells for someone else. If they had to pull stupid moves like this, they could have at least had the decency to do it with Jack and Kate so I wouldn't care.
I assumed he was Jacob. They said he for sure wasn't? I just thought they so loved their idea of Jacob vs Smokey but didn't want to hire new actors for more than a few episodes. So they just downloaded those characters into their favorite actors matrix style.

Well, fake Locke did say he wants to go home...
That's true. I hope the final episode reveals the island to be a dormant spaceship. That kind of stupidity would demand a nationwide standing ovation across every living room in the country.

I didn't see it, just read about it second-hand. I guess Kimmel asked them if Sayid had become Jacob and they said he was close, but it wasn't Jacob.

He should be Locke in Sayid's body. Then Locke Sayid and Not Locke can trade bodies using the Tree of Souls, FIXING EVERYTHING.

Jordy talking about THE MATRIX got me thinking, and I'm really afraid LOST is going to have a MATRIX REVOLUTIONS style ending with all this alternate reality stuff. Locke Prime will return to the island and live happily, Jack Prime will go to Earth 2 and live a normal life off the island, etc. etc. And of course, the obligatory wacky scene where the Hurley's of both universe's meet and make fun of everyone.

Whoever casts L O S T is my favorite person in the world for their dedication to using actors from DEADWOOD.
You can say that about pretty much any show and any other show and make it true. Especially if they started the same year.

Is that really how MATRIX REVOLUTIONS ended? I'm honestly asking because I can't remember a thing about it.

I'm not sure what Steve Lilley is referring to, but a big speculation on the internet about MATRIX REVOLUTIONS was that Zion and everyone's "real world" bodies were actually in a second matrix. Which would explain how Neo could see in code when he was blinded, how he could stop sentiniels, and how he could be in the Matrix without being jacked in. But not really.

Oh, no no, I was talking about something they essentially reference in passing. As part of the truce, everyone got to pick whether or not they wanted to be in the Matrix or the Real World.
I think. That happened, right? Did I make that up?

It's pretty sad that what you posted is so much better then what the movie actually was.

When Ben was saved by the temple as a little brat they were told he'd come back "Changed."

Don't worry, they won't address that. The temple is now for ghost downloading.

1) As for the lack of a master plan, in Season 3 Kate and Sawyer were forced to work on the construction of a runway, in Season 5 Lapidus used the runway to land the airplane.
Do I think they had every detail and twist planned? No, and they've never claimed it. But there are dozens of examples that suggest they've known about the major turning points from very early on. Isn't that what Whedon would do on Buffy and Angel?
2) As for Michael Emerson as Ben, that's not what happened. Their plan was that an Other would be captured, and depending on how good the actor was he would either be the leader or someone who would get them to the leader. Michael was great as Ben, so they made him the leader. They've said they set up a lot of back-up plans like that throughout the series.

Sayid is either possessed by Old Locke or Christian. It'll be one hell of a body claiming battle.
The Island could be a spaceship. It is a machine. I mean, it can be moved.
