Your hoverboard notion brings up a fascinating idea: what if a remake could be a sequel to the first one by way of Marty Jr. going back to 1985?

"Give me a Coke Blak."
"That's the only color it comes in, kid!"

"Give me a Sprite Remix"
"Huuuuuuuuuh?"

Is Zak Efron up to playing all three roles?  (Marty Jr, 1985 Marty Sr, 2015 Marty Sr)

Last night a friend of mine observed that 2015 will be as to 1985 as 1985 was to 1955 in the original Back to the Future movie.

Didn't those movies observe this for you?

I don't want to speak for him, but Back To The Future is one of my oldest and dearest friends.

BttF 2 observed that 2015 was a distant, unrecognizable future, not modern times a few years away.

They've still got 5 years, Mr. Glass-half-empty.

Yeah, except for all the hover tech, we've got equivalent tech for most of what's in BTTF's F.

Weather forecasts accurate to the second (or weather control, depending on your interpretation)
3D holographic billboards
Nuclear Fusion reactor appliances
Shoes that tie themselves
Dehydrated food microwave type thingies
Sleep guns
Self-drying clothes
clothes that adjust their fit.
