I think Chevy is wrong, you gotta trust your producer and director and editor, and certainly there are ways to say "what about that joke? That was pretty good." But I do admire the fact that the dude isn't coasting, he's actively watching the shows and picking them apart. He's wrong on so many levels, but he still wants to be funny which is nice. But again, he's wrong.

Man, Donald Glover was doing some good work this episode.

It is a shame, because Chevy is so good on that show. He and Grodin are amazing when they want to be, but both seem to be insufferable in the same direction in real life.

A tad too much whimsy in last night's episode, though I liked Glover's breakdown.

"I didn't get INCEPTION!" had me laughing.
I thought there were a lot of great moments but as a whole, it just wasn't up to the usual snuff. Though, reading across the web, a lot of people REALLY loved this episode.

It was out there, but I enjoyed it. I always admire the show's ambition, even when I don't care for what it's doing, or get why it wants to do what it's doing.

I loved it. One of the great misconceptions about Abed is that he's a robot with no feelings, whereas this episode shows that he does have feelings and just can't express them very well. Pudi plays him so well it's amazing.
I really appreciated the effort they must have gone to to make this show, especially with the cast playing themselves as Abed would play them. I also loved that he got Chang's shirt colour wrong.

Well, I mean he can only do a half-decent Chang anyway. I wasn't sure: Were they green screened into the backgrounds of the study room/other spots around school, or did they just over saturate the color? It looked like it was a combination of both.

I think they went for greenscreen for most of the Annie-Abed scenes.

I just rewatched it, and I enjoyed it more.... because I think I know what Harmon was doing now....
I now see this episode was an examination of Abed's crush on Annie.
His breakdown was a response not to her tampering with the dreamatorium, but to her phone call where she said that everyone caters to him (which he called back in his/her diagnosis in his hospital file). Which is why he bitterly kept portraying that Annie set up the date so to get Jeff. And why he played Jeff for the majority of the scenario. The tell on this for me was when they recreated the season one finale and he mentioned himself as part of what is in the way of Jeff and Annie being together. Something along the lines of "With Abed out of the way and Troy and Britta together." It all goes back to the Han Solo kiss from last season's finale. Which would make sense that the first thing he tries to do in the hospital simulation is to kiss Annie. I think this episode was Abed upset that Annie doesn't have the same feelings for him that he has for her.

Maybe it's just the part of me that roots for dorks to get hot chicks, but Annie/Abed and Troy/Britta actually becoming actual things would make me happy, Especially since the idea of pairing either girl off with Jeff puts me right to sleep.

That's not even the Spanish language network NBCU owns.

Alec Baldwin gave a speech about the arts at the National Press Club this week. During a Q&A session afterwards, he was asked to name the one area of the arts that is most in need of funding. "I'd like to say half-hour comedy on NBC Thursday nights. [audience laughs] It's a very threatened, uh... so they tell me."

Very pleased to see that TOUCH is doing poorly. Maybe I'll get my Bauer movie next year after all.
