I just picked up seasons 1 and 2 of MOONLIGHTING on DVD for $15 at FYE.

I remember loving the show and was afraid it would be dated or not as good as I remembered. I was happy to be wrong.

It is easy to see why Bruce Willis became such a huge star. From moment one of the show, he's perfect. Also, no show besides BUFFY, that I can think of, hits the ground running with such a good handle on who the characters are and how they act and interact.

It is actually better than I remember.

When I was living in Europe as a pre-teen/teen, family friends back home would record entire nights of television programming and mail us the VHS.     The only shows that consistently satisfied were Cheers and Moonlighting, and yeah, they really hold up well today.

Say, is there a generally accepted term for that Moonlighting style cross-talk...?  over-talk...?

The only thing I remember about this show is that my parents refused to let me watch it because it was on past 9PM, which was my bedtime.

Also I remember what a big deal it was when Willis made DIE HARD coming off of MOONLIGHTING.  "David Madison as an ACTION HERO??  Get out of town, this will never work!"  Then we avoided the Noid or did something else distinctly late-80's.
