Just got back from a screening of Dangerous Men at the silent movie theater on fairfax. LA people, you must look out for this if you are even a casual fan of bad awesome movies and The Room.  It's the most I've laughed at a movie since Wiseau's masterpiece. I'm not sure I could say it's better than The Room because I've seen that so many times and this just once but the fact that it's even close is amazing. They are different breeds of the same bad awesome animal. Hopefully its replay value is as high. I thought The Room made all other bad movies no fun but this one made me believe in them again. If only John S. Rad did Q&As like Tommy.

I found the trailer. I'm really glad I didn't see the trailer beforehand. So if you are hardcore and want to seek it out don't watch the trailer. It doesn't do it justice whatsoever but I figured I'd post it for people who will probably never be able to see the real thing. It does contain moments of the genius beat machine score.

If you ever plan on seeing this don't click on one of the related videos that says Dangerous Men - Rad. It spoils the amazing ending and it's not half as funny out of context. Whoever uploaded just that scene should be punched.

Found this interview with John S. Rad. It's amazing how much he reads like Tommy Wiseau. They could be long lost brothers.

Man, maybe I should try and make a trip out to L.A. soon.

What kind of screening? Like the first of many over the next 6 months? If so, maybe I'll try to come out during Spring Break.

That's one hell of a statement. You're playing with fire.

Edit: Upon further inspection, it seems John S Rad has died.

Damn that's terrible. At least he left a legacy behind.

Saw this again last night. It does have quite a bit of replay value. Although I think the more it gets played the more annoying the crowd is going to be. I'm fine with audience participation like during The Room but people were just saying very loud and annoying things like, "I fucking love this part!" Maybe there were just a few bad apples close to me.

It's quite amazing.  I don't think it approaches THE ROOM in terms of awesomeness, but the audience was much better spirited instead of THE ROOM's angry moviegoers.  They were loud during DANGEROUS MEN, but they weren't mean, which was nice.  I have a feeling though, in time, they will be mean and even more annoying.

Is this a monthly thing, like the room?

DANGEROUS MEN is like the best dream I've ever had, but preserved on celluloid for future use.

July 25th! The New Beverly has stolen it from the Silent Movie Theater crowd in a coup that will send shockwaves through the late night screening community.
