The Plan is a complete failure.

I just rewatched the whole thing recently and it's still great even when you know exactly what's coming. They ended it at the right time too. The last ten episodes were pretty spotty but the mutiny stuff was great.
And how about Fat Apollo?
Fat Apollo was a huge mistake.

I know! I understood what they were going for, showing that the passage of time made him lose his edge and go soft, but they really should have gone a different direction with it. I liked when he stepped off the scale two episodes later back to normal saying "Remind me to never to that again!"

Yeah he looked laughable every time he was on screen which totally undercut any dramatic moments. A misstep to be sure.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the finale (really the last 5-6 episodes). The show had it's flaws but I really think it came together at the end. There seems to be a huge backlash on the web basically saying "the whole thing being about God and angels was a cop out. We wanted answers". What show where they watching all along? The whole series was about Gods, religion, prophecies, faith, etc. I thought the ending was very fitting and didn't feel that I didn't get "answers".

I also wished for a season arc, or episode plot, or hell even for ONE character to point out that if humans and Cylons can reproduce, then how different can they be? No depth, no philosophical discussion about humanity, nothing.
Yeah, this was one of my big problems with the show. Also, the "metal" cylons rebelled against the humans for enslaving them. Then they crated the "humanoid" cylons who then pretty much enslaved them.

I never finished the series. Got to the first few episodes of the final season, but then I moved and discontinued my Netflix for a time. It's too late now to get back into it.

I love the series and may go back to it one day but... it's a lot of work.

For me, it isn't the final episode that is the disappointment, but rather the last spate of episodes. The kind of rushed, ad hoc Starbuck stuff that was more about BIONIC WOMAN failing than a part of a cohesive plan and the need to try to bring a lot of things together in a short space of time.
I think the series as a whole is great on a lot of levels, but at the end chapters, I could see the writers in the process of writing too much, if that makes sense. A lot of times, in the beginning and middle seasons, I didn't, and I just bought in to it all, lock stock and whatever.

Caprica was pretty good, but way different from BSG. This looks closer to the spirit of that show. Is that the same cover of "Immigrant Song" from the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer?

It is. The trailer is even edited and tagged the same way.

I think people didn't like it because it was so different from BSG. It was not a space opera, it was a family drama. But I enjoyed it.
