I still have issues with the costumes, but I'm more excited for this than I was for Transformers when the first spot was released...and I have equal love for both properties.

Why does everything have to have an unnecessary subtitle these days? And why do 70% of them have the word "rise" in them? My recollection was that this phenomenon started in earnest with PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, mostly because Disney saw the potential for a series and wanted to "alert" audiences to the idea that there would likely be more than one film. How this helps from a marketing perspective is anyone's guess. If that's true, couldn't "Star Wars: A New Hope" take at least partial credit for this phenomenon?

I would think credit would have to go to EMPIRE, because ANH was added on after, no?

PIRATES was so dark that they added a subtitle so it was clear it wasn't JUST the ride being adapted, it was a story set in the same world. At least, that's what I was told.

I'll obviously defer to you, Brian, when it comes to inside knowledge. That's just what I recall having read on the ol' nets at the time. If I recall correctly, same thing happened with SKY CAPTAIN, and we can see how that worked out.

I also heard that it was an afterthought of Eisner's that everyone hated but couldn't change.

I'm just glad Destro has the mask on... I kinda wish Christopher Eccleston wasn't wearing the mask for his action figure. I was going to team him up with my prequel Obi-Wan figure and re-enact my favorite scenes from "Shallow Grave". I was going to have them interview my other action figures, who wanted to rent their spare room in my Castle Greyskull playset.

Ninjas are neither Heroes or Villains. Apparently they are above such labels.

Might be, nothing; that is my favorite thing you've ever said. I'm sure there will be an unmasked Destro figure. At least I've been hoping there would be so I could have a Christopher Eccleston figure. Now I definitely hope there's one so I can have Destro asking Obi-Wan how much he paid for his Black Pearl. Destro: "You paid $50 for that ship?" Obi-Wan: "That's what it cost, Dest." Destro: "No, that's what you paid for it. We've no idea what it cost us yet."
