I remember the third one being 'Simon Says', yeah.  I thought that there was one spec script that almost became 'Die Hard 4', the one that would've had Affleck [which I don't think is the same movie that became 'Tears From The Sun', though it was a similar idea], and then a different spec that because 'Live Free or...', and the only reason I feel any sort of confidence about that at all is that I thought Willis himself said that none of them originated as John McClane vehicles some time around when he was promoting the 4th one.

If so, I'd like to nominate DIE HARD: DASVIDANYA.

I'd go with "In Russia, Hard Dies You!"

The fourth one was based off of an existing script called (if memory serves) WW3.COM, which was based off of that Wired article. And, funfact, SIMON SAYS (the script VENGEANCE was based off of) was also being looked at for a possible conversion into a sequel to Brandon Lee's RAPID FIRE.

I thought SIMON SAYS was *also* maybe going to be a LETHAL WEAPON movie? Am I wrong about that?

Fun fact: My father legitimately thinks Bruce Willis' character is named "Die Hard." He always says, excitedly, "Ol' Die Hard'll get ya!" and things like that whenever it comes on TV. I don't have the heart to correct him.

You said yourself they're going for the PG-13.

They'd say "motherfucker" in Russian, and it wouldn't be subtitled.

' Willis was swayed by Moore’s love for the John McClane character, and his grasp of how to shoot practical, non-CGI-heavy action scenes that have been a hallmark of the Die Hard series. '

Well, had been...

This isn't that bad I don't think, it could still end up being rather good. I wouldn't mind seeing McClane going back to the rougue cop who can just barely get through these situations as apposed to the increasing Super John we keep getting the past few movies.

Wolfe: You STILL haven't watched MOONLIGHTING yet, have you? I'm telling you, there are literal DAYS worth of awesome in your future. Sixty-six hours of Bruce Willis being amazing that you have not seen.

This is the most public yet of my many humiliations.

I love the shit out of MOONLIGHTING. Even the bad episodes still have fun stuff in them.

I honestly don't know who I like more, David Addison or John McClane.

I haven't watched ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT yet and I've owned the first two seasons for two years. I move at my own pace. And that pace is glacial.
