I wonder what the most unbelievable part of that article is.

My money's on "planning to shoot early 2009".

Michael Caine's adding fuel to the fire:

ETA:  I don't buy it.

I don't think this has been posted here yet.  It's old news, but really funny news:

http://www.batman-on-film.com/BATMAN3_nolan-far-from-B3_6-16-09.html

Don't know how much stock can be put into this, but I wouldn't blame Nolan for not coming back. Having to try to top THE DARK KNIGHT would be kind of a nightmare of a gig. And, for as much as I hope he does come back, I don't outright hate the idea of someone else taking over and making the Batman world a bit more fun/less rigidly "realistic."

The only thing in that article I took solace in:

Quote
Zack Snyder's reps told BOF that he wasn't interested

Thank God.

Jeez, what A list director would want the job of trying to follow Nolan's Dark Knight?

Place your bets now: Ratner or McG?

Danny Boyle should do it.  He can follow up SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE with VIGILANTE BILLIONAIRE.

Nolan is already handing over an entrenched cast that is front loaded with sneaky, non-American stunt casting.  And with Rachel Dawes out of the way, he go ahead and cast some up and coming Brit chick as Catwoman.  He can also bring in Robert Carlyle as The Riddler.

And, hey!  Cillian Murphy is already cast as The Scarecrow!

That is bordering on genius.

That is bordering on genius.

The plot involves The Riddler, Catwoman and The Scarecrow trying to smuggle a bag of money out of Wayne Manor.  Naturally, everyone wants it for their own selfish reasons (although Gordon may need it because his wife needs an operation or something), but Bruce Wayne is forced to go guerilla vigilante while dosed on Crane's new and improved fear drug and run around hidden ducts and ceiling passages in his newly rebuilt house to quietly pick off the intruders one at a time (in non-lethal Batmannish ways, of course).

Before it's all over, Bruce will start to question what he's become while Crane's neurotoxin slowly turns every into The Infected from 28 DAYS LATER.  Will Bruce pacify the situation before it turns into that icky video recording from EVENT HORIZON?  Stay tuned!

You missed a perfect opportunity for a "Bat-time, Bat-channel" reference.
