I heard about this on the NPR show, "Wait Wait. Don't Tell Me" and thought it was an odd bit of news.  In a nut shell, Cindy McCain posted a few "passed-down family recipes" on the McCain website, and those family recipes were actually Rachael Ray recipes from the food network website.  She apologized, but when she was asked to give a family cookie recipe she gave a recipe straight from the Hershey's Chocolate website.
Below are links to the two incidents:

I'm surprised The Daily Show hasn't done a piece on this yet.

Something tells me that woman hasn't touched cookie dough since she was a child.  I have a feeling that is the fault of some campaign staffer who if they weren't fired after the first one, is fired now.

I'm about as partisan as they come, but I have to tell you, it saddens me that I (or anyone else) even KNOWS about this silly, non-issue of a story.

The fact that potential first ladies have to do this retarded fake dance of cookie-recipies in Women's Magazines in 2008 is absurd.

I think that generally, almost EVERYTHING about a potential  first-spouse is irrelevant and non-issuey, and I hate when any side focuses on the wives or family of a candidate.

I agree, but it's so absurd that I just have to laugh about it.  It's a shame that this is even being discussed when there are such bigger topics to focus on, but sometimes you just have to reflect on how our media machine works.

I also have to agree with Dalton on the fact that this is more than likely the fault of a staffer, not Cindy McCain.

Well, it exposes the falseness of the whole thing. 'McCain Family Recipes', I mean, seriously. There's just no need to tell white lies to people.

Nobody's mentioning that Bill submitted a recipe, too, and it was plagiarized as well.

Michelle Obama - the only honest cookie maker in Washington.
