I'm still looking for number 2 (although my local store said they'd order a copy for me), but I'll pick this one up for sure.  You've been posting about "Everybody's Dead" for a thousand years; it's nice to finally be able to read it.

Shall do!

Also, just bought ATF 7 last night (with the Oeming cover of course) and

Is it not a bit odd to have a Spike cover for a comic that doesn't heavily feature Spike?

Gunn is training Vampires to take on Slayers? Jesus Christ Gunn! I really can't wait to see his twisted logic behind that one.

Kate's back! Wait, kate's not in the main series. This does not bode well.

It's cool to see the fella who played Groo is following this s well.

Franco's not going to be on Angel any more? Boo! Well at least Geekin' Out's Jim will be able to tell people to pick it up if they like it.

Wait, Franco's going to be on a new Spike series? yay!

Two issues nest month? yes please!

My store better have ordered it.  They never got #2, but if they don't, I'll just pick it up this weekend in Berkeley.

I picked up my shop's last copy of ED3. I saw a lot of them back in the reserved section.

Best issue yet.  I laughed out loud a bunch, and I'm getting pretty attached to the characters.  Oh, and Dave Crosland totally totally rules.

I lost it when Westerberg came across the zombie Trick or Treaters.

Like I've said before, everytime I see a trailer for College or any other crappy college/frat comedy, it makes me sad that there's no Everybody's Dead movie. Especially after this issue. The Nuk developments sealed this as being, as Wizard said, the single greatest comic book of all time.

I'm curious about how much of what's in the comic was in your old script though?

Maybe I'll post the script when the series is over so's you can see.

I think the comic is better than the movie script, I will say that.  None of the army base stuff is there.  Doug's Dad is in the army but you don't see tanks and so forth.

Wes and Aurora have the exact same arc thus far (though it veers off wildly in issue 5 for reasons I'll go into once you read it).  Jack and Doug are the same, in that Doug is reacting like a normal person would while Jack is almost enjoying the situation.  Though I will say Jack is getting dumber with each issue.  If you go back and read issue 1, Jack is smarter than he is in issue 3.

All the stuff with Nuk and Greta is almost exactly the same as it was since the very first draft I wrote over ten years ago.

Is the pace a bit slower in the movie version? When I read this (and Buffy Season 8 ), I wonder if anything gets lost in the quick pace and quick episodic nature of comics.

Oh yeah it's definitely slower in the movie.  More downtime.

I had to scour the bay area but I found a store not too far away with one copy left.  It was worth the search.  You're the man, Lynch!
