I've read up on the development of ALIEN 3 and 4. Are you sure Earth wasn't a factor in 3? It definitely was in 4, right? Whedon's version ended on Earth, right?

There was a "Wayne's World" teaser in front of the Addams Family with nothing from the movie. It was them sitting in a graveyard, I believe.

The weird thing is, if you read up on the complicated development process it took to make ALIEN³, and how they kept discarding ideas and writers and drafts, it being set on Earth was never an idea that's mentioned by anyone, so I don't know why that teaser even exists. But it's nuts that they had no idea what the movie was going to be about ten months before it was released/
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's talked about in the amazing WRECKAGE AND RAGE doc on the DVD/Blu. It wasn't in play for very long, but it was definitely what they were doing for a brief period of time. Prior to the planet made of wood, which was prior to what we eventually ended up getting. EDIT: Nevermind. Found the X2 comicon teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDmUDtpC71MIt was brilliant to focus on the mansion raid, but as a result they do end up spoiling the majority of their second best action setpiece. Note the complete lack of digital effects, including Wolverine having no claws in most shots where he uses his claws.

I never saw the DVD stuff about it, but I've read several extensive articles about the preproduction process and Earth is never mentioned. Though it had to have been a factor at some point since that teaser exists. Whedon's draft ended on Earth, but that was years after the third one had already come out.

All four of the movies get feature length documentaries in the QUADRILOGY DVD set and the ANTHOLOGY Blu set, but the ALIEN3 one is by far the best. It's original title was WRECKAGE AND RAPE.
On the Blu set, they're all on the same disc, which is terrific.

Also, THE ADDAMS FAMILY teaser has some weird stand in Uncle Fester but the rest of the actors from the movie are in it. http://youtu.be/IqC4ur1WicQ

I remember the LOOK WHO'S TALKING TOO trailer that had the Richard Pryor dialogue on it, but he was eventually replaced by Damon Wayans.
Sometimes you drop little nuggets casually and they blow my mind.

That ANTHOLOGY set is kind of mindblowing. ALIEN has never looked better, ALIENS is de-grained but not in a bad way, the unedited ALIEN3 doc is there (along with cleaned up sound on the ALIEN3 workprint). It's a massive, massive home run all around. Oh, and ALIEN RESURRECTION is there, too. Ridley Scott also calls PROMETHEUS, in writing, an ALIEN prequel. Which he has refused to do since.

The LOOK WHO'S TALKING TOO trailer was before the LOOK WHO'S TALKING movie on VHS. It had Roseanne's voice taken from her show and I think SHE-DEVIL, and RICHARD PRYOR was dubbed over a quick shot of a black baby. I think he just said "Oh I heard that". It was clearly from another movie. So weird.

It's strange that they spoil the ending of the first one, but then I guess it just makes it a twist ending, "When she's born, she sounds like Joan Rivers for some reason."

Back on topic: I saw the teaser and it got an uproarious reaction from a theater I didn't realize had so many people in it, but it really didn't. They were just that excited.
