I didn't know there was an original, and I've yet to see it, but I didn't like Butters' video. I think partly because of the special effects.. I dunno, I think I would have enjoyed it more if it looked like they had filmed it in Cartman's basement and you could see edit lines for the three Butters... basically, a "sweded" version.
I didn't really like the episode as a whole. Writers not affiliated with the WGA taking shots at them?
It's been a long time since I've seen much self-deprecation on this show, and even longer since I have seen any that wasn't about them being up their own ass.
It feels like they put all of their effort into the Heavy Metal episode for at least this half of the season to the detriment of all the other episodes.
I also disagree with Kyle's point, mainly because it was based on a flawed premise (Trey Parker making a statement based on an inaccurate assumption? Noooo), and also because I don't think it's foolish to try and settle matters now rather than down the line, not because I think it wouldn't be possible to get what they want, but why not? You see something that's small and insignificant, but could become a problem later, why wait until later to do something about it?
Then again, that's exactly what a lot of people want to do with the environment, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Shows how much I know about Internet phenomena. I thought they were parodying the old Eddie Murphy song about butts.

^ Someone had posted the original video in the Baseball Boogie thread. The great thing about it being on South Park is that now everyone I sent the link to won't think I'm completely crazy.

I'm not going to front, I laughed at the Butters thing. I had only watched the original once when I had a handful of VAers crashing at my place for last years NY con. I haven't seen it since.
I thought the rest of the episode was crap especially the Canadian crap that had so much potential starting with Ike.
PS - Butters could read from the dictionary and I would laugh.

is it just me, or do Matt and Trey seem to wish every known person (celeb and otherwise) dead?
Also, if the episode was made a couple years ago, Andy probably would have been in it. I thought of him when they mentioned Kimmel. Is he about the only "internet celeb" to make an actual lucrative career out of all this?

Is he about the only "internet celeb" to make an actual lucrative career out of all this? The head writer for Andy's show also wrote for 'South Park' and 'That's My Bush'. And he's Jimmy Kimmel's brother.

Is this week's episode really a send up of Stand and Deliver? Cause THAT would be ridiculously cool.
I'll definitely try to catch it now.
