Yeah.  Isn't that how this thing goes?  Do you think I'm that dumb or are you just surprised a Gus Van Zandt movie is that high?

I do not think you are that dumb.  I'm not surprised that A Gus Van Sant movie is on your list, but I'm surprised that that Gus Van Sant movie is on your list.

What did you like about it?  I found it rather plodding and pointless, but I've liked other of his plodding pointless movies, so I can't judge too harshly.

For those who have seen it, how is CJ-7? I really dig Chows other flicks, and am debating if this one is worth the trip to the shady theater on Sunset to see it, or If I should wait for DVD.

Are you talking about the Sunset 5?  It's not a shady theater at all, it's pretty awesome and in the middle of a nice area.

CJ7 is great.

EDIT: It isn't playing anywhere around here no more.  Sigh.

If you're one of those people that needs a state of the art multiplex, then I can see how a small little theater could frighten you and think it's actually a front for a meth lab. But that theater is a-ok and kept up well for a small indie theater.

BE KIND REWIND
SNOW ANGELS
STEP UP 2 THE STREETS
RUN FATBOY RUN
IN BRUGES
THE HAMMER
SEMI-PRO
HORTON HEARS A WHO!
DRILLBIT TAYLOR
RAMBO
JUMPER
TEETH
21
STRANGE WILDERNESS
CLOVERFIELD
10,000 BC
FUNNY GAMES

I like strang's movie frequency. Even Jordy didn't see COLLEGE ROAD TRIP.

Also, the Sunset 5 just got new, much more comfortable seats.  We need to go to a Room screening to enjoy them.

Certainly this wasn't a fraction as plodding as Elephant.  I didn't leave th theater feeling like I had just walked around for an hour and a half like I did that horrible day.  But mostly I love how the continuity was a motivated mess.  And how terrible the kid's writing was.  Usually, they'd have the kid say that he wasn't good at it but by the end make it somehow poignantly beautiful or something.  That it was always awkward and bland was great.  Same kind of goes for that kid's acting.

GERRY is a bit forgivable. ELEPHANT is depressingly vacant.

Wow, I sound like a douchebag.
