The last Pat I drew before the 5 year hiatus. Notice his last words for 5 years were "Kill me. Kill me now." Well, I listened.

Always wanted to bring Pat and his friends back, but didn't know how. In the meanwhile, I helped my friend Vin make A BETTER PLACE and did craft service on CHASING AMY. The whole time I was trying to think of a way to bring Pat back.

And then, one summer day I was opening a can of cat food for my, what's the word, cat, using a wall can opener. The can fell, and partially severed my thumb. It caused severe nerve damage and I didn't think I was going to draw again. Hurt too much. Didn't have control over the pencil. I put aside my "art" and concentrated on screenwriting. Made BIG HELIUM DOG, wrote a bunch of other scripts, it's doing well for me, but this cartoon has always been in the back of my mind.

So I re-taught myself how to draw, and once I got back to speed, I thought of ways to continue doing Pat.

Which leads me to Josh Dobbin, who has helped, nay, been a driving force in bringing Pat back to amuse an entirely new group of bitter geeks. I thank him from the bottom of my blackened heart. And I hope you like the new ANGRY NAKED PAT. He may have lost the "YOUNG" but he certainly didn't lose the "ANGRY" or "NAKED".

Or "PAT" for that matter, but that didn't sound as dramatic.
