I don't
know if you know this, but before acclaimed actor Mark Wahlberg
had a career in the moving pi'tures, he was the front man for a
progressive, experimental group of musicians known as the "funky
bunch". He worked under the pseudonym "Marky Mark"
and proceeded to spread the message of "U GOTTA BELIEVE"
and "FEEL IT FEEL IT" to the masses. The sheep didn't
get it then. They may never get it. But oh, I do. And I say, huzzah
to you, fair crooner.
<<Josh Dobbin:Brian fails to
reference Mr. Mark's crowning achievement- a Vanilla Ice Flavored
treatment of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side." It was
a cautionary tale of urban strife and the violent end you may arrive
at if you choose crime as your path. It would not be until TLC and
Everlast gave the world"Waterfalls" and "Ends",
respectively, that MTV would have such social conscience and commentary
again.>>
This
was roughly ten minutes before he wowed the world in the hit film
FEAR. And then, of course, BOOGIE NIGHTS. And then, his crowning
achievment, THE BIG HIT, where he shot people while plummeting off
a ledge on a bungee cord. He also provided dope raps for said epic.
And all was right in the world.
